Hey there, friends! Let’s talk about some major relationship goals right here. Robin Roberts, the beloved host of Good Morning America, is officially a married woman! She and her partner, Amber Laign, tied the knot after an incredible 18 years of dating. The couple confirmed the big news on September 8, and let me tell you, it's a love story for the ages.
Now, here’s the cutest part: the newlyweds didn’t just announce their marriage through a standard post. Oh no, they went above and beyond. They shared the happy news via their Instagram account dedicated to their furry family member, Lil Man Lukas. The post read, “My mommies are MARRIED!!!! Married?……yes….married!!!” Alongside this joyous announcement was a picture of their adorable pup donning a dapper pup tux. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how adorable that is?
From Bachelorette Bash to Beach Bliss
Before they officially became Mrs. and Mrs., Robin and Amber celebrated their bachelorette party during a live episode of Good Morning America. Talk about making memories in front of millions! Their celebration was joined by Robin’s co-stars, friends, and family, and it was filled with laughter and heartfelt moments as they relived their love story. The party had a beachy vibe, paying homage to their shared love for Key West, Florida, a place that holds a special place in their hearts.

The Journey of Love and Resilience
Robin, 62, and Amber, 48, started their journey together in 2005 after a blind date. Since then, they’ve been each other’s rock, especially during some of the toughest times. In February 2022, Robin revealed in an emotional Instagram video that Amber had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Having battled breast cancer herself, Robin was determined to be there for Amber every step of the way.
In that video, Robin shared, “She and I have been together almost 17 years and have helped each other through our challenges like my journey with cancer. It’s my turn now to be there for her like she was for me.” And that’s exactly what she did. Amber completed her radiation treatment in July 2022, and soon after, the couple decided it was time to take their relationship to the next level.
Saying 'I Do' and Writing the Next Chapter
Fast forward to January, and Robin couldn’t contain her excitement when she announced, “We’re getting married this year. It was something we had talked about, but we had put it off. She became ill, but … it is saying yes to that, and that next chapter.” And what a chapter it turned out to be! This union isn’t just about love; it’s about resilience, partnership, and the unwavering support they’ve shown each other over the years.
Now, if you’re wondering about the proposal, it wasn’t your typical down-on-one-knee moment. Robin described it as perfectly fitting for their relationship. “It was just us hanging out in our little hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot and putting calamari rings on each other and saying, ‘Let’s go. Let’s do it.’” Talk about keeping things real and authentic!
