Hey there! Let me tell you about a funny and relatable moment on the 'Today' show that had everyone talking. Hoda Kotb, the beloved co-host, found herself in a bit of a pickle during an episode on Thursday, February 1. It seems her left eye wasn't quite cooperating, and there was a good reason for that.
Hoda, 59, admitted to her co-host Jenna Bush Hager, "I think I have a contact stuck in my eye way up here. Honestly, I don’t think I took it out last night, and now I can’t find it. It feels like it’s still in there!" Can you relate? We've all been there at some point, right?
Hoda's Dilemma: A Contact Lens Nightmare
Hoda explained that she had every intention of visiting the eye doctor but, as we all know, life gets busy. "I just didn’t have the time," she confessed. Turning to the camera for some help, she asked the audience for advice on how to get the stuck contact out. "Maybe people have tricks on how to get it out because I’m sure plenty of folks have had contacts that rolled up. How do I get it out? I’ve tried everything! If you know any tricks, please post on X. I just want this thing out!"

Jenna, 42, stayed incredibly supportive as Hoda continued to poke and prod her eye. "We have breaking news: Hoda has now lost all eyesight because her other contact fell out," Jenna joked. "I’m going to go ahead and read, and hopefully when the health person comes, we can resolve this issue."
Hoda Finds a Solution with Fan Help
Hoda was adamant that there were two contact lenses involved in this ordeal. Luckily, one fan came to the rescue with some great advice. "A fan told me to look down and pull my eyelid," Hoda explained. Following the instructions carefully, she was finally able to remove the lost contact. "It was so crazy," she said, praising the fan for giving the "best advice." Relief all around!

After losing one contact, Hoda shared that she could only see Jenna and was unable to read the teleprompter. "It looks like a bunch of mushed-up colors," Hoda said. "This is really weird. I’m totally dependent on you 100 percent. Not reading is not easy. I can’t read anything!"
Jenna Takes the Lead
Jenna took charge during the broadcast as Hoda waited for someone to bring her another contact lens. "I don’t like this feeling," Jenna admitted. "I like to be partners with you. Let’s hope that a doctor arrives in the next couple of minutes and Hoda is able to see!"
Enter Ariana DeBose, who was scheduled to be interviewed on the program. She walked out onto the stage with some new eye contacts for Hoda. "I’ll take your glasses too!" the author of Hope Is a Rainbow quipped after the chaotic segment.
