It's baby Archie's first Easter! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's adorable son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, celebrated the holiday on Sunday, April 12, with a delightfully sweet treat. According to an exclusive source speaking with Closer Weekly, "Harry and Meghan gave Archie his very first chocolate Easter egg today, with his name written on it in icing sugar. It was such a heartwarming moment!"
While Archie is still too young to fully enjoy the rich chocolate, the little royal certainly got a taste of the festive spirit. "Archie only got a small nibble of the chocolate because he's still so young," the insider continued, "but he absolutely loved it!" Of course, dad Harry was there to make sure the rest of the chocolate didn't go to waste. "Harry ate most of the egg. It was huge," the source added with a chuckle.
First Easter in Los Angeles
Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, celebrated their 11-month-old son’s milestone in Los Angeles, where the family has been residing as they self-quarantine during the global coronavirus pandemic. With strict social distancing measures in place across the country, many families couldn’t gather with loved ones on this religious holiday. However, Meghan and Harry ensured that those close to them still felt included in Archie’s first Easter. "Harry sent adorable pictures of Archie and his Easter egg to friends and family," the insider revealed, making the moment even more special.

How Different This Year’s Easter Was
This year’s Easter celebration was vastly different from how Meghan and Harry spent the holiday last year. Typically, the former royal couple would be expected to make an appearance at St. George’s Chapel on Easter Sunday. But with large gatherings prohibited worldwide due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic—and because Meghan and Harry are no longer active members of the royal family—they were able to enjoy a quieter day away from the spotlight. Plus, it's worth noting that Meghan was still pregnant last April; she didn’t give birth to Archie until May 6, 2019. In fact, Meghan and Harry skipped the Easter 2019 church service at St. George’s Chapel so the former Suits actress could rest at their former home of Frogmore Cottage in preparation for Archie’s arrival.

Leaving the Royals Behind
On January 8, Prince Harry and Meghan made the bold decision to step down from their royal duties. They wrapped up their final royal engagement on March 9 at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey. On March 30, they bid farewell to their followers with a heartfelt message on their joint @SussexRoyal Instagram account.
Since then, Meghan and Harry have relocated from their home in Canada to Los Angeles, where they’ve immediately begun self-quarantining. "They’re taking no chances and haven’t ventured out yet, but Harry can’t wait for Meghan to show him all the hotspots in L.A. once things return to normal," an insider shared with Closer.
