Let's face it, we all love a peek into the lives of celebrities, especially when it comes to their families. But not everyone is keen on sharing every detail. Eva Mendes, the stunning star of Ghost Rider, recently opened up about why you won’t see her and Ryan Gosling's kids on social media. In her own words, Eva shared her thoughts with her Instagram followers, explaining the importance of respecting her children’s privacy.
Eva Mendes Speaks Out on Privacy
At 46, Eva Mendes has carved out a life that balances her career and family. On April 18, she took the time to respond to her followers on Instagram, shedding light on her reasons for keeping her personal life off the grid. “Hi! I’ve always been clear about setting boundaries when it comes to my partner and my kids,” she began. “Of course, I’ll talk about them, but within limits. Posting pictures of our daily lives, however, is something I don’t do.”

Why Eva Keeps Her Kids Out of the Spotlight
Eva, who’s been with Ryan Gosling since 2011, elaborated on her choice to keep her daughters, Esmeralda (5) and Amada (3), out of the public eye. “Since my children are still so young and don’t fully grasp what posting their image entails, I don’t have their consent,” she explained. “And I won’t post their images until they’re old enough to give me their consent. As for Ryan and me, this level of privacy works for us. Sending loads of love to everyone during this time.”

Back in March, Eva reiterated this sentiment when she responded to fans asking why she only posts old photos of her and Ryan. “As for Ryan, I’ll only post throwbacks of things that are already public,” she wrote. “My man and my kids are private, and that’s important to me, so I appreciate everyone understanding that. Have a beautiful day. Sending so much love!”
A Peek Into Quarantine Life
While Eva keeps her family life private, she did give us a small glimpse into her home life during quarantine. Although Amada wasn’t visible in the frame, Eva shared a sweet video of her youngest daughter playing an instrument. In the post, she wrote, “Trying to keep things light at home with my two little ones. Nothing like some old Cuban music to do the trick. And yes, that’s my 3-year-old on the piano.”

Even though Eva keeps her content as a mom minimal, a source dished some sweet details about the family’s quarantine life. Besides enjoying classic Disney films like Dumbo and My Neighbor Totoro—two movies that Esmeralda and Amada adore—Eva and Ryan are finding creative ways to bond with their daughters. “Eva is an expert at engaging the girls in DIY projects, and Ryan is getting into the groove too,” the source told Closer Weekly. “Like the rest of the world, they’re just trying to stay sane and make it work.”
