Catherine, 50, has officially welcomed a new furry member into her home with husband Michael Douglas. And get this—she even gave the little guy her beau’s last name. Meet Taylor Douglas!
In a heartwarming Instagram post, Catherine introduced the world to her newest family member. “Introducing Taylor Douglas to the world. 💕,” she wrote. The caption was accompanied by a series of adorable videos showing Taylor running around and playing. It’s clear that this Maltipoo puppy is already stealing hearts, including Catherine's.

Healing Through Love
Life hasn’t been all rainbows and sunshine for Catherine lately. Just weeks before Taylor came into her life, she lost her beloved dog, Figaro. That loss was undoubtedly tough, but Catherine found solace in welcoming Taylor into her home. If that wasn’t enough emotional weight to carry, Catherine also lost another cherished member of her family—her father-in-law, the legendary Kirk Douglas, who passed away in early February at the age of 103.
Catherine shared her heartfelt tribute to Kirk on Instagram, saying, “To my darling Kirk, I shall love you for the rest of my life. I miss you already. Sleep tight…” It’s clear that Catherine and her family are navigating a lot of emotions, but the love and support they’ve received from fans have been a source of strength.
Fans Rally Around Catherine and Michael
In a post filled with gratitude, Catherine extended her thanks to everyone who has been sending love and support to her and her family. “Michael joins me in thanking you all for your overwhelming love, kind words and prayers since the passing of my father in law Kirk,” she wrote. “My whole family appreciated every word. Love to you all❤️.”
Michael Douglas also paid tribute to his father, expressing his love and admiration. “It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103,” Michael wrote. “To the world he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to.”

Michael continued, “Kirk’s life was well lived, and he leaves a legacy in film that will endure for generations to come, and a history as a renowned philanthropist who worked to aid the public and bring peace to the planet. While Kirk may not have met Taylor, there’s no doubt he would have adored Catherine’s new furry companion. Taylor Douglas is sure to bring a whole lot of joy to the family during this time of healing.
