Carrie Underwood and Husband Mike Fisher Recall Her Miscarriages

In a raw and heartfelt moment, Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, have bravely opened up about their personal struggles with miscarriages. The country music superstar and her former NHL player husband shared these intimate details in a new series that delves into their lives as parents. The “Love Wins” singer was visibly emotional as she recounted the heartbreak of losing three pregnancies in 2017, standing alongside her supportive husband.

“I had this honest conversation with God,” Carrie, now 37, revealed, her voice trembling with emotion. “I was so hurt, and I just laid it all out there, telling Him exactly how I felt.” This poignant moment is captured in the trailer for their four-part series, Mike and Carrie: God & Country, produced by the faith-based organization I Am Second. The show aims to provide a window into their spiritual journey and family life.

Heartfelt Recollections of Pain and Loss

For Mike, 39, and Carrie — proud parents to sons Isaiah, 5, and Jacob, 16 months — the losses were deeply painful. “When Carrie told me, ‘I lost the baby,’ I was just devastated,” Mike recalled, his voice heavy with emotion. “It kept happening, and every time, it felt like a punch in the gut. You have these incredible highs in life, but we hadn’t experienced many lows like this before.”

Carrie first spoke publicly about her miscarriages back in September 2018. The couple had struggled to conceive more children after Isaiah’s birth in 2015. “We got pregnant early in 2017, and it didn’t work out,” Carrie explained. “At first, we thought, ‘OK, God, this wasn’t Your timing, and that’s okay.’ But then it happened again in the spring, and again in early 2018. At that point, we were left wondering, ‘What’s going on here?’”

In their new series, which premieres on May 27, Carrie and Mike also reflect on the joyous moments of welcoming their children into the world. Carrie admitted that motherhood wasn’t something she ever imagined for herself. “I was never good with other people’s kids, so why would I think I’d be good with my own?” she joked. But everything changed when Isaiah came into their lives. “It was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m in love,’” she reminisced, her voice filled with warmth.

Mike, who always dreamed of having a large family, described the overwhelming emotions he felt when Isaiah was born. “I went to the hospital with Carrie after Isaiah was born, and I was just as emotional as could be,” he shared. “It was a life-changing experience.”
