Here's the thing: Sara Haines, cohost of The View, and her husband, Max Shifrin, are rock solid in their relationship. During a recent Q&A session on her Instagram Stories, Sara revealed that Max is totally cool with her discussing her exes and past relationships on national TV. That's right—no jealousy, no drama, just pure confidence in their marriage.
This little confession happened on Thursday, May 2, when Sara took some time to answer questions from her followers. And let me tell you, this response was golden.
Max Shifrin Doesn’t Bat an Eye When Sara Talks About Her Past
One curious follower asked, “Does your husband mind that you speak of your past relationships so freely on TV?” Sara, now 46, was quick to reassure everyone. “No, Max does not mind, and if he did, I wouldn’t do it,” she explained. “When it comes to Max and my exes, we’re not really hung up on that stuff. It’s like, why waste energy on something that doesn’t matter anymore?”

She went on to elaborate, “Maybe it’s just a level of comfort we have in ourselves and in our relationship, or maybe it’s something else entirely. But I often share stories about some of my exes because they were significant chapters in my life. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, with the person I’m meant to be with, and I love him deeply. Max understands that those experiences shaped who I am today, and he’s completely okay with that.”
And here’s the kicker: Max doesn’t even flinch when Sara mentions her past relationships on the show. “He’s never said a word about it,” Sara added. “At first, I thought maybe he just didn’t care, but then I realized he’s so secure in where we’ve ended up together. The past is the past, and the present and future are what truly matter. So no, he doesn’t mind one bit.”

Sara and Max’s Recent Romantic Getaway
Speaking of romance, Sara and Max recently escaped to Turks and Caicos for a much-needed vacation. They soaked up the sun, relaxed on the beach, and enjoyed some quality time together during The View’s annual spring hiatus. This trip was extra special because they went without their three kids—Alec, Caleb, and Sandra.
“It was just Max and me because our kids’ spring breaks never seem to align,” Sara shared during an appearance on The View’s “Behind the Table” podcast on Monday, April 29. “The two youngest kids have one schedule, Alec has another, and we have a completely different one. Last year was the first time Max and I managed to get away for a few days on our own. It was amazing, and I always wish we could do it more often.”
