Ashley and Michael Cordray's Love Story: How Did They Meet?
Ashley and Michael Cordray’s love story is as charming as it gets. They first crossed paths back in 2008 when they were studying at Texas A&M University at Galveston. While they initially started off as friends, it wasn’t until 2011 that sparks began to fly. The couple quickly realized they had something special and decided to take the plunge into a life full of adventure together.
Ashley, a real estate expert, knew from the start that Galveston was where she wanted to put down roots. She had a vision for their future, and Michael was all in. In fact, Ashley recalls how just two months into their relationship, she convinced Michael they were moving to Galveston and buying a home. Talk about diving headfirst into life together! During a July 2017 interview with Texas A&M Today, Ashley shared, “After two months of dating, I convinced him we were going to move to Galveston and buy a home. The next day we found the house. We live our lives very spur of the moment.”

Fast forward to 2014, and the couple tied the knot. The following year, they founded Save1900, a company dedicated to restoring historic homes in Galveston before they were demolished. Their passion for preservation caught the attention of HGTV, which led to the creation of their show Restoring Galveston. Initially, the series aired under the name Big Texas Fix on HGTV’s sister network, DIY Network, in 2019. It wasn't long before the show found its forever home on Magnolia Network.
Are Ashley and Michael Cordray Still Together?
Here’s the good news: Ashley and Michael Cordray are still very much in love. Their marriage is as strong as ever, and they celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary in April 2022. Not only do they share a life filled with love and laughter, but they also work side by side in the world of home improvement. They’ve shared some valuable advice for couples looking to navigate the challenges of working together.
“Give into each other’s strengths, more than anything,” Michael said in a September 2020 interview with Click2Houston.com. “I love my design ideas, but I’m willing to concede if she’s got a good one. I think she gives me a little leeway on carpentry and stuff, whether or not something’s possible or whether we should do something.”
The couple continues to take bold risks together, both in front of the camera and in their personal lives. Ashley reflected on their journey, saying, “I think every day, our life has kind of transformed by the crazy risks we were willing to take. At every moment, it’s like ‘Can we do this?’ and that’s what’s led our whole life and the way it’s kind of taken its path.”
In August 2023, Ashley and Michael decided to renew their vows. Nine years after their first wedding, they celebrated their love with a sweet ceremony. Ashley shared the moment on Instagram, writing, “We focused so hard on just finishing this space that all wedding details were mostly planned two days ago. We pulled off nothing short of a miracle with so many friends and vendors. I just needed to share our overwhelming gratitude to our people!”
How Many Children Do Ashley and Michael Cordray Have?
Ashley and Michael Cordray are proud parents to three beautiful daughters. Their oldest, Elle, was born in November 2019, followed by Emma in May 2021. Both girls have made appearances on Restoring Galveston, a moment the couple cherishes deeply. “We completely forget about all the hard days when we have ones like this,” they captioned a clip from the show where they brought their kids to the beach. “Our life is being documented, and the best part will be watching the girls grow up.”

In March 2023, Ashley and Michael announced the arrival of their youngest daughter, Emory. On their joint Instagram account, they shared a heartfelt post: “Mom and baby girl are doing great,” they wrote. “You didn’t miss the announcement or the gender reveal … we not so patiently waited to find out Michael is very much outnumbered!”
