Clint Black And Wynonna Judd: A Sibling-Like Bond Forged On Tour

Clint Black Remembers His 'Sibling Relationship' with Wynonna Judd

There’s no doubt that Clint Black’s time working with Wynonna Judd left an unforgettable mark on him. The legendary singer of "Like the Rain" now fondly refers to Wynonna as his "sibling," a nickname born out of their close bond during their 1993 tour together. Picture this: two powerhouse country artists hitting the road, creating music magic, and forming a connection that goes beyond just being colleagues.

Recalling those days, Clint, who's now 61, opened up to People in an interview on October 9. He described the unique dynamic they shared. "Wynonna and I, we developed this sibling-like relationship on tour," he explained. "She was the queen of her show, the one in charge, and her crew treated her with all the respect a boss deserves. But I wasn’t about to be all formal. Nope, I decided to be the playful brother—teasing her, poking fun, and just being a lighthearted pain in the neck. And guess what? We had a blast doing it!"

A New Chapter: Reuniting for More Music

Their collaboration didn’t end with the 1993 hit "A Bad Goodbye." Fans are in for a treat because these two are teaming up once again. Wynonna, 59, is set to appear on season 5 of Clint’s Circle Network show, Talking in Circles With Clint Black. It’s going to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane as they reminisce about their past adventures on tour.

I’m curious to know what’s been keeping her busy, how she approaches her music, and what her touring life looks like now. She’s got such a fantastic sense of humor, and I’ll definitely be giving her a friendly ribbing, just like I did back in the day!"

    Wynonna’s Recent Triumphs

Wynonna has been keeping herself busy in the spotlight. She recently graced the stage at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards on September 28, alongside her husband, Cactus Moser. The night was filled with high-energy performances as she delivered a medley of her greatest hits. But it wasn’t just about the music; Wynonna used the platform to honor her late mother, Naomi Judd, who tragically passed away in April 2022.

Accepting the Country Champion Award, Wynonna delivered an emotional speech that resonated with fans everywhere. "I remember walking into that hospital room, holding my mom in my arms," she recalled. "I kissed her on the forehead, closed her eyes, and told her I loved her. Then, I walked out, went home, got up the next morning, and showed up at the Country Music Hall of Fame for my induction. Why? Because that’s the power of music. No matter what life throws at me, I keep showing up and giving it my all."
