It’s the season to be jolly, and Trisha Yearwood brought the festive cheer in a dazzling blue gown as she stepped into the holiday spirit during the CMA Country Christmas Special. The legendary singer, known for hits like "Walkaway Joe," took the stage alongside fellow country star Amy Grant to host this year's televised event.
Trisha and Amy Light Up the Stage
Not only did Trisha and Amy take on the responsibility of hosting duties for the evening, but they also dazzled the audience with a soulful duet of the classic "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." Trisha, who turned 59 this year, radiated elegance in a shimmering gray dress that caught the spotlight. The dynamic duo was joined by the incredibly talented violinist Lindsay Stirling for a breathtaking rendition of "Joy to the World." Trisha and Lindsay, 37, teamed up once again as they harmonized beautifully on "O Holy Night," leaving the audience in awe.
A Standing Ovation for Lindsay Stirling
Before the show, Trisha couldn’t help but rave about Lindsay Stirling's extraordinary talents. Speaking to On the Red Carpet on Thursday, December 14, Trisha expressed her admiration for the violinist’s unmatched skills. "Her physical prowess is like a freak of nature," Trisha exclaimed. "She plays violin while she’s dancing like crazy, stretching high kicks, and she’s playing. It’s all live—I mean, she is freakishly good!"

Trisha also gave fans a sneak peek into what they could expect from the show. "The show starts with high energy. We rehearsed yesterday, and I can’t wait for people to see the show open," she said. "When you see it, you’re gonna be in the Christmas spirit. You’re not gonna have a choice!"

A Journey Through the Years
The CMA Country Christmas Special, a long-running tradition that began in 2010, originally featured Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland as its host. In 2017, country legend Reba McEntire took over the hosting duties, but Trisha stepped into the role in 2019 and has been leading the charge ever since. This year, however, marked the first time Amy, 63, joined her as co-host.
Trisha and Amy sat down with WEIS 100.5 FM to discuss their collaboration on December 14. "I’m most looking forward to singing with you, Amy, because we’ve known each other for years," Trisha shared. "We see each other at events and get to hang out a little bit. But to really spend some time together has been really nice."
Amy echoed Trisha's sentiments, adding, "Vince has known you for a long time and loves you, and you feel so familiar to me. That’s been my biggest excitement about this and sharing music together."
The CMA Country Christmas Special also featured electrifying performances by Lainey Wilson, Jordan Davis, Jon Pardi, Ashley McBryde, Zach Williams, and Lady A. Tune in to ABC at 8:00 p.m. EST on December 14 to catch all the festive magic unfold!
