Paula Faris, who is 48, cohosted The View from 2015 to 2018. She also had a successful stint on Good Morning America from 2014 to 2018. She confessed, “It felt like I had become a workaholic. My job had become my ‘narcotic of choice.’” Paula realized that her relentless work schedule was taking a toll on her personal life and well-being. She made the difficult but necessary decision to step back and focus on what truly mattered to her.

Challenges That Shaped Paula's Decision

Paula went through a series of tough experiences in her personal life that contributed to her decision to leave her high-pressure roles. She explained, “I went through a period of seven months where I had a miscarriage, and I even had a concussion — someone threw something at my head during a live shot, which knocked me out of work for three weeks.”

And if that wasn’t enough, the very day she was cleared to return to work, she got into a head-on car crash. To top it off, a couple of months later, she battled influenza, which eventually turned into pneumonia. Despite these challenges, Paula has shown incredible resilience and strength.

A Lasting Bond Between Paula and Sara

Today, Paula hosts her own show, The Paula Faris Show, and authored the insightful book Who Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up? in 2023. She and Sara have maintained a close bond over the years, often sharing their experiences with postpartum depression. Paula is a proud mom to Caroline, JJ, and Landon with her husband John Krueger, while Sara shares Alec, Sandra, and Caleb with her husband Max Shifrin.

On GMA in May 2019, Sara spoke candidly about the challenges of motherhood. She said, “The dialogue around moms is always, ‘this is a blessing,’ which it is, and, ‘you’re so lucky: this is going to be the happiest day of your life.’ When it doesn’t show up that way, it can be disarming.”

Paula shared her own struggles, saying, “It was hard for me to identify what it really was because I didn’t experience it before with my previous two children.”
