In the midst of all the drama surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step away from their roles as senior members of the royal family, one of Harry's closest friends has come to his defense. Argentine polo star Nacho Figueras, who has known Harry for years, shared that the prince simply wants to lead a "normal life." This heartfelt statement sheds light on the personal struggles Harry has faced and the reasons behind his and Meghan's bold decision.

Harry's Desire for a Normal Life

“I spoke to Harry just a few days ago,” Nacho, 42, revealed during the ABC special Royal Divide: Harry, Meghan, and the Crown, which aired on January 29, 2020. “He has really been through a lot with everything that’s happened. The constant scrutiny and judgment from people have weighed heavily on him.” Nacho explained that Harry is not just seeking freedom but is driven by the desire to protect his family. “He’s being a father now, a guy who is trying to shield his cub and his lioness from all the chaos,” Nacho added, referring to Harry's son Archie and wife Meghan.

Nacho continued to express his admiration for Harry’s growth and resilience. "Harry has become an incredible man, a man that his mother, Princess Diana, would be proud of," Nacho stated with pride. The polo player, who has starred in the hit series Polo Kid, emphasized how Harry's journey reflects his transformation into a compassionate and responsible individual. "He's not just a prince anymore; he's a father, a husband, and a protector," Nacho explained.
