Let’s talk about a possible music collaboration between Keith Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman! Yes, you heard that right. The country music star recently hinted that he might be teaming up with his spouse of 18 years for a duet. Fans are buzzing with excitement over this potential project.
At the CMT Awards 2024, Keith opened up about the possibility during an interview with E! News on the red carpet. “We sing around the house all the time,” he said with a smile. “So, why not take it to the next level and do something together?” Keith’s enthusiasm is palpable, and it’s clear that he’s eager to share the stage with his talented partner.
Keith Steps Out Solo at the CMT Awards
While Nicole, 56, wasn’t able to join Keith at the Austin, Texas, awards show, the country singer still made an impression. Walking the red carpet alone, Keith later took the stage to perform his hit song “Straight Line,” showcasing his signature flair and charisma. Fans couldn’t help but wonder if Nicole might join him for a future performance.

“She’s always busy making movies, and I’m always in the studio working on new music,” Keith explained when asked about collaborating with Nicole. “But we’ll find the time. It’s just a matter of syncing our schedules.” The Grammy-winning artist knows that timing is everything, but he’s confident that a duet could happen sooner rather than later.
Guitar Lessons for Nicole: Keith Steps into the Role of Teacher
Just days before the CMT Awards, Keith revealed another interesting tidbit: he’s been giving Nicole guitar lessons. “It’s going… not so great,” he joked during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on April 4. “First, I need to find her a great left-handed guitar. That’s step one.”
While Nicole may be a seasoned actress and singer, learning a new instrument is no small feat. Keith’s playful approach to teaching his wife is a testament to their lighthearted relationship. Fans are already imagining the two strumming tunes together, whether on stage or at home.
Nicole’s Vocal Talents: A Legacy of Stunning Performances
For those who might doubt Nicole’s vocal abilities, a quick look at her past performances will set the record straight. The Australian actress has proven time and again that she’s more than capable of holding her own in the music world. Remember her powerful rendition of “Say Something” with Luke Evans for his 2022 cover album, A Song For You? Or how about her unforgettable duet of “Somethin’ Stupid” with Robbie Williams on his 2001 album, Swing When You’re Winning?
“Robbie asked me to do it, and I was like, ‘Sure, I’ll give it a shot,’” Nicole recalled on The Graham Norton Show. “I’d just come off doing Moulin Rouge! and was feeling pretty shy about singing in front of people. But Robbie was so supportive.” Her experience working with the British pop star was clearly a positive one, and it only added to her growing confidence as a vocalist.

It’s impossible to forget Nicole’s stunning vocal performance in Moulin Rouge! alongside Ewan McGregor back in 2001. More recently, she tackled a challenging Bob Fosse-inspired routine in The Prom (2020). Nicole admitted during an interview with Goldene Kamera that mastering the dance routine was no easy feat.

“Fosse dancing is its own art form. It was a whole new skill set I had to learn in just six weeks of rehearsal,” Nicole explained. “Even though I only had one number, it was incredibly difficult because of the staircase, the hand movements, and the intricate choreography. Every part of a Fosse dance is carefully choreographed—it’s like dancing a symphony. I now have a deep appreciation for Fosse, and I can watch it with a new understanding. It’s truly a masterpiece.”
