Life has taken Jane Seymour on quite the journey. After navigating four divorces and enduring the ups and downs of several long-term relationships, it’s understandable if someone thought she might throw in the towel on love altogether. But instead of closing herself off, Jane made a conscious decision to keep her heart open—and she’s reaping the rewards. "I’ve never been happier," the radiant actress confessed, turning 73 this February 15, as she introduced the world to her new partner, musician John Zambetti.

Jane credits this newfound happiness to a shift in perspective. In the past, she admits, she often sacrificed her own needs to cater to those of her partners. "For so long, I was always putting someone else first, bending over backward to make things work," she reflects. But when she decided to embrace being single and focus on herself, something remarkable happened. "I became whole in a way I’d never experienced before. I wasn’t just half of someone else’s story anymore—I was my own person." It was this independence that set the stage for a healthier, more fulfilling relationship down the line.

When Jane met John, she wasn’t looking for romance. Just months prior, she had ended a nine-year relationship with director David Green, who proposed to her—a proposal she ultimately declined. "I knew it wasn’t the right time for me," she explains. "I didn’t want to commit to anything that didn’t feel authentic." So when her kids introduced her to John, she approached the situation with caution. "I wasn’t searching for love—I was just enjoying life," she says. "But sometimes, love finds you when you least expect it."

From the moment they met, Jane and John connected on a deep level. Both 73 years old, they quickly realized they shared similar values, interests, and outlooks on life. But what truly set this relationship apart was Jane’s decision to remain grounded in her own life. Instead of reshaping herself to fit into John’s world, she invited him into hers—a world filled with family, friends, and cherished traditions. "I have five adult children and three grandchildren," Jane shares. "My life is rich and full, and I wanted John to be a part of that—not the other way around."

Thankfully, John fit seamlessly into Jane’s life. "He gets along wonderfully with everyone," she says with a smile. "Our families mesh beautifully, our cultures align, and we enjoy so many of the same things. It’s like we were meant to be together." What’s more, their connection goes beyond surface-level compatibility. "The intimacy we share is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced," Jane reveals. "It’s built on trust, love, and years of wisdom. At this stage in life, everything feels richer, more meaningful, and more satisfying."
