This injury came after a fall at home while she was recovering from hip surgery. Let’s dive in and see what’s going on with this incredible woman.

Kathie Lee’s Journey to Recovery

Back in late July, Kathie Lee, who’s now 70, let her fans know that she had fractured her pelvis after a fall at home. She’s been working hard to recover, and on August 5, she shared some heartwarming photos from her Nashville home. In these images, she’s enjoying some downtime, reading her latest book, Herod and Mary: The True Story of the Tyrant King and the Mother of the Risen Savior. If you’re looking for a thrilling read, Kathie Lee says this one’s a must-check-out.

Here’s what Kathie Lee wrote in her caption: “Hi everyone! While I’m home recovering, I just want to say a huge thank you for all your kind and beautiful prayers. Family Support and Gratitude

Kathie Lee’s not just relying on books to keep her spirits up during this time. Her family, especially her grandkids, have been a huge source of joy and support. She recently posted a sweet picture of her eldest grandson, Frankie, sitting inside a basket filled with stuffed animals. Kathie Lee’s caption for this adorable photo was: “So grateful to my beautiful daughter-in-love, Erika, who sent me Frankie in a basket to cheer me up! And it arrived on my precious daughter, Cassidy’s birthday. I am truly blessed.”

Frankie, who was born in May 2022, is the son of Kathie Lee’s son Cody Gifford and his wife Erika Gifford. They also have another son named Ford, born in November 2023. Kathie Lee’s daughter, Cassidy Gifford, and her husband Ben Wierda welcomed their son Finn into the world in June 2023. It’s clear that family means everything to Kathie Lee, and they’re all pulling together to help her through this recovery journey.

    Slowing Down and Finding Joy

Kathie Lee has been reflecting on her life and the pace at which she’s been living it. In a candid conversation with People, she shared how she’s embracing this slower phase in her life. “It’s summer for everybody but me,” she said. “But it’s okay. I’m going to get out to my little farm one of these days and stick my feet in my salt pool. The Lord is telling me it’s time to slow down. I’ve been running my whole life. The Lord is telling me, ‘You’ve planted a gazillion roses. Try smelling them.’ ”

Her Nashville home, which she purchased in 2019 after leaving Today, has become a sanctuary for her. For 11 years, she co-hosted the show with Hoda Kotb, but now she’s found her true calling in Music City. Kathie Lee is focusing on her passions, like singing, songwriting, and acting, as she steps away from broadcasting.

In an interview with Fox News in August 2022, Kathie Lee opened up about her career shift. “I loved doing the show with Hoda,” she said. “But those were never my dream jobs. My dream job is what I’m doing now. Writing music and writing movies and writing and directing in beautiful places.”

    Reflections on the Entertainment Industry

Before sharing her hospitalization, Kathie Lee stopped by the Today studio in July to catch up with Hoda. She reflected on how much the entertainment industry has changed since her days as a full-time anchor. “I don’t know that I could do it anymore in today’s world. It’s just so mean-spirited,” she admitted. “And you can’t say anything that’s really on your mind because you’re gonna offend somebody — and I’ve really never cared about that. I’ve never meant to offend.”
