There’s a buzz in the air about the possibility of a romance between Hoda Kotb and Hollywood legend Kevin Costner. The talk only intensified when Hoda addressed the buzz on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, aired on July 9.

During the taping of Watch What Happens Live, one fan virtually asked Hoda, "How do you feel about viewers 'shipping' you and Kevin Costner after he appeared on Today last month? And have the two of you connected since?" The question left Hoda momentarily puzzled, as she replied, "Wait, what?"

Host Andy Cohen quickly clarified, emphasizing the enthusiasm of the viewers: "The viewers want the two of you together. Yes, yes, yes, yes." Hoda, caught off guard, admitted, "I have never heard that, not one time." But don’t count her out just yet.

Co-Hosts Chime In: Savannah Guthrie's Take on the Kevin-Hoda Connection

Savannah Guthrie, who joined Hoda for the late-night show, was visibly excited about the prospect of the pairing. She teased Hoda, saying, "Well, you heard it now. You up to it?" Hoda, playing it cool, responded candidly, "Well, if the viewers want it," to which Savannah quipped, "Give the people what they want!"

Later, Jenna Bush Hager brought up the topic on Today With Hoda & Jenna on July 10. Jenna admitted, "I stayed up late to watch, and while I was watching, I saw that a viewer asked you about a recent interview, and this kind of, yeah, lit my pants on fire." She added humorously, "I didn’t know you and Kevin were shipping! I didn’t even know what shipping meant."

Jenna admitted that fans on the street had been suggesting the pairing, saying, "You should set up Hoda and Kevin Costner." She explained to the audience, "Shipping is when you are hoping people get into a relationship." Despite the playful banter, Hoda maintained that there was "no flirting" between her and Kevin during their interview.

Hoda's Take: The Real Deal Behind the Chemistry

Hoda revealed some qualities about Kevin that she admires, saying, "I did love when he had his people who were here and they were just talking about him, they were like, 'He is so funny.' And they were describing, like, he likes to eat baked beans out of the can. Like, he’s just a regular person." While there may not be a romantic spark just yet, the chemistry between the two is undeniable.

When clips of Hoda’s interview with Kevin were played with music in the background, she called her colleagues "ridiculous" and reiterated that there was no flirtation during the interview. Jenna playfully suggested giving Kevin a call, which set both women off laughing.

For Hoda, this isn't the first time romance has been on the table. She was previously in a relationship with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, with whom she shares daughters Haley and Hope. Kevin, too, has a rich family history, having been married to ex-wife Christine Baumgartner for nearly 20 years, with whom he shares kids Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. The Oscar-winning actor is also a father to Annie, Lily, and Joe with ex-wife Cindy Silva, and son Liam with ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney.
