Ginger Zee Takes a Stand Against a Troll’s Harsh Comment
Good Morning America’s Ginger Zee isn’t one to let negativity slide! The beloved meteorologist gave a perfect clapback to a social media troll who dared to criticize her appearance. At just 44 years old, Ginger is not only rocking her career but also embracing her life with confidence and grace. On Tuesday, March 11, she shared a screenshot of this interaction on Threads, letting everyone know she wasn’t about to take any nonsense.
Let’s rewind for a moment. Someone had the audacity to comment, “You’re not aging well.” Can you imagine the nerve of that person? But Ginger didn’t let it get to her. Instead, she delivered a response that was both classy and powerful. “What a privilege to be aging in any manner — thanks for your opinion though,” she fired back. And honestly, can we all take a moment to appreciate her poise and wit?
Her Heartfelt Reflection on Aging
Ginger didn’t stop there. She went on to share her thoughts with her followers, writing, “You know you are in a good place when you genuinely believe your response. And I do. What a privilege to be able to be alive. No matter how you perceive my aging, I’m proud of it.” That’s the kind of mindset we all need to embrace. Aging is a gift, and Ginger reminded us of that in the most beautiful way possible.

Fans and Colleagues Rally Behind Ginger
Of course, Ginger’s fans were quick to jump to her defense. NBC’s own Vicky Nguyen chimed in with, “Classy and perfect and true response Ginger!” It’s always great to see colleagues standing together in solidarity. Another supporter noted, “When I get terrible comments like that, I also wonder what is going on in that person’s life to attack a complete stranger. You had an excellent response though!”
One commenter summed it up beautifully: “You’re gorgeous and sexy and smart. Keep up the amazing work you do. I am a big fan. I look forward to your reporting every morning.” It’s clear that Ginger has a loyal fanbase who see her as more than just a weather anchor—she’s a role model and a beacon of positivity.
Another person added, “It shouldn’t matter, but I just saw you doing the weather, and I thought ‘Damn, what a stunning, passionate, intelligent, and personable professional woman!’ I loved your response because you should be proud.” And who could forget the fan who said, “You’re a beautiful woman and human being. I’ve been watching you for a long time; are you really aging? If so, you’re aging gracefully. People hate for whatever reason, screw them. To he’ll with the naysayers.”

Ginger’s Journey of Self-Acceptance
This isn’t the first time Ginger has tackled online criticism head-on. Back in July 2021, she shared a video on X showing her transformation from casual wear into a stunning dress before stepping onto the GMA stage. She captioned it, “Look what she made me do… the transformation is REAL this morning as I’m back in the studio at @GMA big thanks to Merylin & Andrea for the transformation.”
One viewer commented, “I wish Hollywood would stop putting pressure on women to be this skinny.” Ginger didn’t shy away from responding. “Hmmm I rarely get called skinny (athletic more often) —have a BMI of around 21 — I would think this is about right for me :),” she replied, according to People. “I’ve weighed the same (barring pregnancy) for almost two decades. Definitely not Hollywood.”
Another commenter remarked, “I wish people would stop criticizing people for their looks.” Ginger agreed, saying, “Unfortunately that feels like a long way off.”

Ginger Opens Up About Body Image Struggles
In an October 2022 Instagram post, Ginger opened up about her personal struggles with body image. She wrote, “I know I’m privileged to be able to walk on a treadmill, to walk in general, to have crackers and cookie cake. I know so many would be so happy to have my body. And while body positivity is all the rage, the obsession with being thin is concurrently rampant.”
She continued, “This is a process and an evolution. This morning I had the thought: I just wish I could start over. Start fresh at work, start fresh with my body image… but then I wouldn’t be me. And the me I am now I am genuinely proud of and wouldn’t want to change.” It’s clear that Ginger is not only inspiring others but also continuing to grow and evolve herself.
