Hoda Kotb’s daughters are about to experience their own little slice of heaven in their new home! The beloved Today host recently shared how thrilled her kids were about moving into a new space out in the suburbs. Picture this: a warm, cozy home designed to be the ultimate hangout spot for her family.
Exciting New Chapter for Hoda and Her Family
During an episode of Today on Tuesday, August 27, Hoda sat down with cohost Jenna Bush Hager to spill all the details. “The kids are going to have their own rooms,” she said with a grin. Think about it: a home tailored to make them feel comfortable and cherished. “Our goal for this new house was to create a space that feels warm and cozy, a place where they actually want to hang out,” she added.
Three Bedrooms, Three Unique Spaces
Hoda, now 60, revealed that their new house has three bedrooms upstairs, each one dedicated to a family member. One for her, one for her 7-year-old daughter Haley, and one for her 4-year-old daughter Hope. “And they’re absolutely thrilled to have their own space,” she said with excitement. Imagine the joy of having a room to call your own, a place where creativity and imagination can run wild.

The Design Details That Make the Space Special
The Hope Is a Rainbow author couldn’t help but share some of the exciting features and design elements her daughters’ rooms will have. “They’re super excited about having a reading chair, a beanbag chair, and of course, their very own beds,” Hoda explained. These little touches are what make a house feel like a home, don’t you think?
Jenna Bush Hager Relates to the Excitement
Jenna, 42, could relate to Hoda’s excitement as she and her family have recently moved into a new home in Connecticut. Jenna, who shares kids Mila, Poppy, and Hal with her husband Henry Hager, shared her own experience. “You know, we had our kids sharing rooms for a while, and it was great. But then they started butting heads,” Jenna said with a laugh. “Once they got their own spaces, they sometimes choose to sleep together. And I love that. It’s such a sweet moment.”

Hoda’s Philosophy on Starting Fresh
Hoda replied, “It’s absolutely wild, but I truly love the idea of restarting, repotting, starting something new. It just feels so good.” Newness can be daunting for some, but Hoda and her girls are ready to embrace their next chapter. “It’s all new—new kids, new school, new things, new everything,” she said with a mix of excitement and determination.
Repotting: Hoda’s Unique Approach to Moving
Today fans might have noticed that Hoda has used some rather unique terminology when talking about moving into her new home. “I’m trying to use the word repotting because it just feels better,” the mom of two said. “It’s like you pull up by the roots and you replant somewhere else: somewhere where you know your roots will grow big.”
She echoed the same sentiment about repotting during a previous conversation on the talk show. “When I found this spot that I liked, a little town that had all the things that could teach my kids independence, I told my kids, ‘We’re repotting.’ They’re like, ‘What? We’re moving?’ I go, ‘Yeah, but we’re repotting,’” she explained.
Explaining Repotting to Her Daughters
When Haley and Hope had questions about what repotting meant, Hoda decided to break it down for them. “I said, ‘Well, it’s when you pull yourself up by the roots. And you’re a little scared, right?’ They’re like, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘But then we’ll go back into really great soil. We’re going to grow bigger and stronger. That’s going to be the place,’” she shared.
