As Hoda Kotb steps into her 60th year, she’s ready to embrace the possibility of finding love again. The beloved Today show cohost recently shared her thoughts on dating and her aspirations for the future, just days after celebrating this significant milestone in her life. Hoda is not just optimistic but genuinely excited about what’s ahead.
Hoda's Positive Outlook on Love and Romance
Speaking with Page Six on a Monday in early August, Hoda revealed her hopeful perspective on romance. "I can see romance clearly, I just can. It’s how you know something is meant to be," she said with conviction. Hoda believes that the right relationship will feel effortless and fulfilling when it comes along.
A New Season of Growth
Hoda expressed that while her 50s were fantastic, her 60s might be the best yet. "I thought 50 was great, but 60 may be it!" she exclaimed. She compared this phase of her life to repotting a plant. "There’s this feeling that the roots are up in the air, but then you land in this rich soil and you’re like, 'Oh, more room to grow,'" she explained, highlighting her excitement for personal and emotional growth.

Celebrating Life with Family and Friends
Hoda celebrated her birthday at home, surrounded by her loved ones, including her daughters, Haley and Hope, and her ex-fiancé, Joel Schiffman. Despite their breakup in January 2022, Hoda and Joel remain close friends and dedicated co-parents. The party was a testament to the strong bond they share as a family unit.
Hoda on Co-Parenting with Joel Schiffman
Months after their breakup was made public on Today, Hoda discussed their co-parenting arrangement. "We have it down," she told People in August 2022. "He’ll have a Saturday, and I’ll do the Sunday. We switch each week." This setup allows both Hoda and Joel to spend quality time with their daughters while maintaining a healthy balance. "He’ll take the girls and do some fun things, and I’ll take some quiet time. It’s a healthy mix, and the kids love it. He’s a great dad," Hoda shared with pride.

Hoda and Joel began dating in 2013 and got engaged in 2019. However, due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, they postponed their wedding multiple times before ultimately deciding that friendship suited them better. "Sometimes relationships evolve. Sometimes perfectly nice people can go their separate ways. Sometimes a relationship ends on your last breath, and sometimes it ends before that, and that’s okay," Hoda explained. "I don’t regret one day, not one minute, not one second of our time together because it brought me here. I have two incredible children I share with him. And it’s because of Joel that I have Haley and Hope, without question. I think I might have been too afraid to do it alone. That’s not something I love to admit, but it’s true," she added with honesty.
Getting Back Out There
In March, Hoda revealed that Today cohost Jenna Bush Hager had set her up with someone, and they were preparing for their third date. "Jenna is like, 'How did I do?' because she wants to go to heaven. Apparently, if you match three people up [you get to go]," Hoda joked with Entertainment Tonight. "I had a great time… I had a great time on our date. I loved it," she reflected. "There has been a second one already. Hey, that’s how it goes… We’ll have our third coming up. It’s really fun." Hoda’s enthusiasm is infectious, and she encourages others who've recently experienced a breakup to embrace new experiences. "Life is beautiful. Try things, go out, get out of your house and your apartment. I feel like life is meant to be experienced and [you should] step out into it," she advised. "I love it."
