Erin and Ben Napier’s Religion: All About Their Christian Faith

A Journey Rooted in Love and Faith

Let me tell you about Erin Napier and Ben Napier, the dynamic duo behind HGTV’s smash hit Home Town. These two aren’t just home renovation pros—they’re also deeply rooted in family values and faith. Erin and Ben first crossed paths as students at Jones County Junior College in Mississippi. From that moment, their lives intertwined in ways they never imagined. They fell head over heels for each other and decided to dedicate their lives to turning other people’s dream homes into realities. And through it all, one thing has always guided them: their unshakable Christian faith.

Ben’s Early Years in Ministry

Ben Napier grew up in a household steeped in religion. As the son of two Methodist ministers, faith was woven into the fabric of his upbringing. When he and Erin tied the knot in 2008, they moved to Laurel, Mississippi, where Ben began his career as the youth minister at Laurel First United Methodist Church. But life had other plans for this couple. In 2014, Ben made a bold decision to step away from his ministry role to focus on building a business with Erin. In a heartfelt resignation letter posted on Erin’s blog that August, Ben explained, “When I started professional youth ministry 10 years ago, I knew it wasn’t a ‘forever’ career. This chapter of my life has been incredibly educational and fulfilling, but now it’s time to move forward. We feel that God is calling us to take another step together.”

From Passion to Profession

Ben’s love for woodworking blossomed after he started refurbishing old furniture. It wasn’t long before he realized he wanted to dive deeper into honing his skills. He took inspiration from his wife, who had left her job at a tech company to chase her dreams a few years earlier. Erin had been working as a designer while running a blog on the side to display her designs. When brides and magazines began reaching out, she knew it was time to make a big decision. “I prayed. Oh, did I pray,” Erin confessed to Guideposts in October 2018. “I sought advice from Ben, our friends, our family, and our church. The answer came through a devotion my best friend sent me: ‘Wherever God’s finger points, his hand will clear a way.’ I had to trust in that. Even so, on that first day of self-employment, January 1, 2010, I felt like two different people merging into one—equal parts fear and hope, small potatoes dreaming big.”

Erin and Ben’s journey to fame began when an HGTV producer stumbled upon their Instagram page. Their show Home Town, which premiered in 2016 and gained traction in 2017, was something they never saw coming. In January 2018, they welcomed their first child, Helen, into the world. Ben shared a touching memory from his first Father’s Day in a June 2020 interview with People. “My parents are both ministers, and my mom and dad baptized my firstborn on Father’s Day,” he recalled. “That’s a moment I’ll never forget.”

In May 2021, the couple expanded their family with the arrival of their second daughter, Mae. To this day, Ben and Erin remain active members of their church community, ensuring their Christian values remain central to their lives. “Faith has been a part of my life since the day I was born,” Ben shared during an interview about their book, Make Something Good Today, in October 2018. “It’s the guiding force behind every decision we make as a family.”
