Hey there, fans of Blue Bloods! The series finale is just weeks away, and the latest updates are sparking a mix of excitement and concern among viewers. As we gear up for the final episode, the cast has been teasing what's in store for the Reagan family, and it sounds like we’re in for an emotional rollercoaster.
A Special Family Dinner with a Twist
Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan-Boyle, shared some insights with Entertainment Weekly about the final episode. "There’s some nice revelations in that last episode of season 14 that wrap up at that family dinner," she said. For the devoted fans who have been following the Reagans for over a decade, this sounds like the perfect way to say goodbye. "For us to go out on such a special family dinner on our last episode, I think will resonate with the fans," Moynahan added.
But don’t get too comfortable with the thought of a heartwarming farewell. While it all sounds promising and a nod to the Reagan family’s traditions, Moynahan hinted that there’s more to the story. "Fans will really get a kick out of some of 'em," she told Entertainment Weekly. "And then there might be a surprise that isn’t so hopeful." It seems like the Reagans won’t be going out without a bang.

Could a Major Character Be Leaving Us?
There’s been a lot of speculation about whether a beloved character will meet their end in the final episode. Abigail Hawk, who plays Jamie Reagan, teased a cemetery scene that could leave fans reeling. "My last day, Tom’s last day, gosh, quite a few of our last days on set, was at a cemetery," she told Screen Time on October 12. "Which is not giving anything away, but certainly dangling a little teaser."
The cast wrapped filming for Blue Bloods back in June, and they’ve all been vocal about how challenging it was to say goodbye to their characters. For Abigail, 42, the experience was surreal. "It was hard," she said. "And I felt like I was almost watching myself because it was so surreal and I was so in it that I couldn’t see it, if that makes sense?"
Tom Selleck's Emotional Farewell
Tom Selleck, the legendary actor who plays Frank Reagan, was visibly emotional during his final scenes. Abigail shared her thoughts on seeing the icon wrap up his role. "And then to see Tom being wrapped out," she said. "This wonderful legend of a man who had lightning strike twice. He’s had such an incredible, illustrious career and would have never thought that, after the success of Magnum P.I., to have this happen again and create such a venerable character."
"You could see the weight of that on him," she reflected. "We’ve been in touch and we’re keeping the line open. I care so deeply for him. It’s hard, you know? He’s aware of his age but he’s also just still got so much to say."

A Family Both On and Off Screen
Bridget Moynahan also expressed how difficult it was to leave the show, which has been a CBS mainstay since 2010. "I think we’re all a little disappointed," she told People on September 12. "We’ve had such a good time. We all want to be there. It’s a real loss." She went on to describe the deep connection the cast members share. "This was our daily lives for 14 years. And we’ve all experienced together major life moments together, whether it’s births, deaths, marriages, divorces, illnesses, we’ve had it all together," she said.
Bridget even admitted she wished she could return to her role. "It’s bittersweet. I want my job back!" she joked during an appearance on Sherri in October. "It was a good run. Fourteen years with a group of people, we were a family on and off the screen." Despite the show ending, she still stays in touch with her co-stars. "Vanessa [Ray], Donnie [Wahlberg] and I, we get together," Bridget shared. "We’re still celebrating people’s birthdays and having fun out there. So, [I] miss them on a daily basis."
