Setting the Record Straight
Let’s get one thing straight—there’s absolutely no bad blood between Hollywood legends Henry Winkler and Tom Hanks. Despite rumors of a long-standing feud, the beloved star of "Happy Days" wants everyone to know that things are totally chill between him and his fellow Oscar-winning colleague.
Henry's Take on the Feud
At 74 years old, Winkler was recently asked by TMZ to clarify the situation. "I don’t have a feud with Tom Hanks," he stated firmly. The story originated when Winkler himself brought up the topic during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live." During that episode, he revealed that he was let go from his directing role on the 1989 film "Turner & Hooch," starring the iconic Tom Hanks. But as it turns out, there's more to the story than meets the eye.
A Moment of Clarity
When pressed further, Henry added, "Yeah, but I know. And it doesn't matter, because what everyone says and what’s actually true are two different things." He went on to share a recent positive encounter with Tom. "I just saw him at the SAG Awards—it was beautiful," he said, emphasizing the warmth of their interaction. In fact, Winkler would even welcome the chance to collaborate with Hanks again in the future.

Would They Work Together Again?
"Would I work with him again? Sure, I would," said the Emmy-winning actor. To drive the point home, Henry recalled another supposed feud that turned out to be nothing more than gossip. "There used to be talk of a massive feud between John Travolta and me. But there was no feud—it was all created, and it turned out just fine in the end," he explained. He even shared fond memories of working with Tom and his late wife, Kelly Preston, calling it "a lovely experience."
Recalling the Past
Back in October 2019, during an appearance on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live," Henry opened up about the circumstances surrounding his departure from "Turner & Hooch." "I was directing that movie for 13 days, and then I was called into producer Jeff Katzenberg’s office. He told me, 'You have everything with you? Go home,'" he recounted. Despite the abrupt ending, Henry fondly remembered his time with the film's canine star. "I got along great with that dog—love that dog," he joked.

We’re thrilled to hear that everything is smooth sailing between Tom Hanks and Henry Winkler. This duo has the potential to create magic on screen, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for them!
