Life on the farm isn’t for everyone, but for Chip Gaines, Joanna Gaines, and their kids, it’s pure bliss. The Fixer Upper duo is all about embracing the simple pleasures of country living, and their adorable son Crew recently gave us a glimpse of that during an impromptu garden tour. While checking out the plants in their backyard, the little one took a moment to lean in and smell the kale—because why not?
As always, Joanna was there to capture the cuteness, documenting the hilarious moment on her Instagram Stories. Watching her 19-month-old son sniff his way through the garden, she couldn’t help but chuckle. At one point, Crew leaned so far forward that he almost toppled right into the soil. Thankfully, disaster was averted, and all was well. It’s moments like these that remind us just how special family life can be.

Could the Gaines Family Be Growing Again?
With five kids already—Drake, 15, Ella, 14, Duke, 11, Emmie, 10, and the youngest, Crew—it might seem like Chip and Joanna have their hands full. But surprisingly, Chip has hinted that he wouldn’t mind adding another little bundle of joy to the mix. Speaking on Today in October 2019, the red-haired charmer opened up about the possibility of expanding their brood.

“I could totally see Crew having a little sibling,” Chip admitted. “And honestly, I’d be all in, thinking, ‘Man, I love this woman!’” It’s clear that Chip’s heart is still set on building his dream family with Joanna.
Joanna’s Playful Response
Not to be outdone, Joanna chimed in with her own take on the matter. “By the time I’m 50, Chip will probably want more kids,” she joked. “So get ready for headlines like, ‘Jo’s Pregnant Again.’” It’s this kind of playful banter that keeps fans coming back for more.
From Selfish to Selfless: Chip’s Journey
Before meeting Joanna, Chip admitted he wasn’t exactly the most selfless guy around. “Back then, I was pretty selfish,” he confessed. “But once I met her, everything changed. There was this real transition—it felt like I finally grew up.” Chip credits Joanna with helping him become the man he is today. “It just clicked in my brain: ‘This is going to work,’” he explained. “And ever since then, I’ve been chasing that vision of a life together.”

Of course, Chip’s transformation didn’t happen overnight. He had to work hard to become the kind of person who could handle a lifelong commitment. “I had to make some serious changes,” he admitted. “I had to step up and be a better man. But when I started thinking about what it would be like to sit on a rocking chair with my beautiful wife when we’re both 80 years old, I got excited. That’s the kind of future I want to build.”
