When the world was hit by the coronavirus outbreak, Bindi Irwin faced an unexpected challenge just weeks before her wedding to Chandler Powell. On March 25th, instead of celebrating with a large group of friends and family, the couple opted for a small, intimate ceremony. In a recent interview with People, Bindi opened up about the last-minute adjustments she had to make to ensure everyone's safety.
Planning Amidst Uncertainty
Bindi and Chandler had been meticulously planning their special day for nearly a year. However, as the global health crisis unfolded, they realized they needed to rethink their plans. "We had everything set, but as soon as the pandemic began, we knew we had to explore other options to keep everyone safe," Bindi revealed in the April 1st interview. The couple's priority was to protect their loved ones while still honoring their commitment to each other.

A Smaller but Meaningful Celebration
At just 21 and 23 years old, Bindi and Chandler made a mature decision to limit their guest list to immediate family and close friends. The ceremony included Bindi's mom, Terri Irwin, her younger brother Robert Irwin, her late father's best friend Wes Mannion, and their beloved animals. "It wasn't an easy choice, but it was absolutely the right one," Bindi shared. "We considered postponing, but deep down, we both knew we wanted to get married, no matter what. We're ready to face the world as husband and wife."
A Perfect Day Despite the Circumstances
Even though the wedding wasn't what they initially envisioned, Bindi described it as a "perfect" day. Chandler echoed her sentiments, recalling the moment he first saw his bride walking down the aisle. "Seeing Bindi in that dress was the most breathtaking sight I've ever witnessed. I couldn't hold back my tears. It felt so right," he said. Bindi added, "Reflecting on our whirlwind day has been incredible. I know my dad would be so proud." Their heartfelt words remind us that love and commitment can shine through even in challenging times.
We send our best wishes to the newlyweds, hoping they enjoy a lifetime of happiness and love.
