Hey there, friends! If you're a fan of Home Town, you know how much we adore Erin Napier and her incredible family. Recently, Erin gave us all a peek into her husband Ben Napier's inspiring weight loss journey. On Monday, July 17, Ben, the talented woodworker, posted a video on Instagram showing off his new, slimmer self in a sharp suit. Talk about making a statement!
Ben's Weight Loss Journey: The Story Behind the Transformation
Now, let me tell you, this isn't just about looking good in a suit (although, let’s be honest, he looks amazing). This is a story of dedication, perseverance, and prioritizing health. Erin, 37, shared a heartfelt caption alongside the video, explaining how Ben, 39, got serious about his health and fitness last winter. He did this in preparation for a big shoulder surgery he had in March. The goal? To sleep better on his back and lower his blood pressure. And guess what? Mission accomplished, folks!
Erin decided to add a fun twist to the video by playing the classic tune "You Don’t Mess Around With Jim" by Jim Croce in the background. It's the perfect anthem for Ben's transformation. Fans were absolutely blown away by how far he's come. Comments poured in, celebrating his success and admiring his new look. One fan wrote, "He cleans up real nice! Good for him in the success of this journey." And who could forget Fixer Upper alum Jimmy Don Holmes chiming in with, "You look good, buddy!"

65 Pounds Gone: Ben's Incredible Progress
Back on March 26, Erin shared some exciting news on Twitter. Ben had lost an impressive 65 pounds at that point! He underwent surgery to repair his rotator cuff, shave off a bone spur, and trim cartilage. This procedure was long overdue, as Ben had been dealing with shoulder pain for years. Thankfully, he had the unwavering support of his amazing wife, Erin, and their daughters, Helen and Mae, during his recovery.
What Inspired Ben's Transformation?
So, what sparked this incredible weight loss journey? It all started after the birth of their daughter Helen, who is now 5 years old. Ben opened up to Country Living in January 2019, saying, "Having Helen made me want to be healthier so I could be around a lot longer and see her grow up and see her whole life." That's the kind of dad we all want in our corner, right?
But Ben's motivation didn't stop there. He also revealed that witnessing his family members struggle with chronic health issues played a significant role in his decision to prioritize his health. In a February 2018 Instagram post, he wrote, "I come from a long line of big men who don’t really discuss their health until it’s an issue. In 2014, one month before his 60th birthday, my father had emergency bypass surgery. Suddenly, this problem that seemed so far from me was standing right in front of me."
Since then, Ben has been hitting the gym hard, even while attending physical therapy for his shoulder. His dedication to his health and fitness is truly inspiring, and we can't wait to see what he accomplishes next. Keep it up, Ben!
