It's comforting to have family around, even though others are back home in our house. This whole thing is unsettling," Kelly shared, according to a source from People magazine. "It's unsettling everywhere—across the country, across the globe. So, having each other, our amazing viewing audience, and hearing Brian Chapman’s voice, our director, first thing in the morning, really helps normalize this otherwise abnormal situation."
Family Plans Changed Due to Global Crisis
As Kelly explained, her and Mark’s parents were originally planning to join the family on vacation three weeks later. But as we all know, things took a drastic turn. "Everything shut down; the government shut down; our country shut down," she said. "I hate to use the word stuck, but we were. We decided to stay where we were, and it felt like the safest option."

Continuing the Show Despite Challenges
Even amid the chaos, Kelly and her cohost, Ryan Seacrest, felt it was important to keep Live going.
