It’s hard to believe, but Blake Shelton is marveling at how quickly time flies as his eldest stepson, Kingston, is about to hit the milestone age of 18. The "God’s Country" singer is living his best life with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and her three growing boys, and he couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
In a candid conversation with Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, April 17, Blake, who’s 47 years young, shared his amazement at the rapid passage of time. "Next month, we’ve got an 18-year-old, and it totally blows my mind that it's already happened," he gushed. "And in a couple of years, we’ll have another one turning 18. It’s gonna mean more alone time for Gwen and me, and honestly, I’m not complaining about that."
Alongside Kingston, Blake is also a proud stepdad to Gwen’s other children, Zuma, who’s 15, and Apollo, who’s 10. These boys are the fruits of Gwen's marriage to her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. Blake humorously added, "But we still have Apollo, so we’ve got almost another 10 years before we can kick him out. It should be a lot of fun!"

Blake’s Journey into Stepparenthood
Blake’s life took a beautiful turn when he married Gwen in July 2021. Prior to this, he had been married twice—first to Kaynette Williams from 2003 to 2006, and then to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015. Despite his past, Blake has found immense joy in his current role as a stepdad.
“I learned really fast that it’s not about me anymore, and that’s a good thing,” Blake shared. “When people say that having kids changes everything, they’re not kidding. You’ve got to step back and realize that it’s not about you anymore. If you’re doing it right, that’s the truth.”
Stepping into Parenthood with Heart and Humility
Blake opened up about the challenges and rewards of being a bonus dad to Gwen’s children. "There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with being a good role model for the kids," he admitted during a July 2020 interview on Today. "It’s one thing to be their buddy, but as they grow, they start listening to what you say, and that’s a big responsibility."
Despite the challenges, Blake wouldn’t trade this role for anything. "We’ve been doing things that I’ve always wished I had time to do," he reflected. "It’s like making up for lost time, and I’m so grateful for every moment."
As a former coach on The Voice, Blake brings the same energy and passion to his family life. He’s making up for lost time and cherishing every moment with Gwen and her sons. "We’ve been doing things that I wished I had time to do for the last 20 years," Blake confessed. "It’s like I’ve found a new chapter in life, and I couldn’t be happier."
