Sam, along with his husband Rubem Robierb, spent the holiday soaking up the sun in the beautiful city of Miami. And guess what? Sam wasn’t shy about sharing the fun, posting shirtless photos on his Instagram Stories on March 31. Now that’s living life to the fullest!
Poolside Bliss at the Standard Spa
In one of those captivating images, Sam, 62, and Rubem, 47, were seen enjoying a leisurely day by the pool at the luxurious Standard Spa in Miami Beach. The couple looked absolutely thrilled, grinning from ear to ear while basking in the warm sunlight. Another snapshot showed them surrounded by friends, all dressed in swimsuits and ready to make the most of the beach day. If you look closely, there's a banner at the top of the photo that reads "Happy Easter," adding a festive touch to their sunny getaway.
Champagne, Treats, and Good Company
But the fun didn’t stop there. The weathercaster and his group of friends indulged in some bubbly champagne and sweet treats while lounging on beach chairs. They made sure to stay cool under the sun by setting up beach umbrellas above their heads. Before jetting off to Miami, Sam made an appearance on Good Morning America on March 29, where he hinted at his Easter plans.

“You know, it’s Easter weekend, which reminds me to stop and grab some Easter candy at the airport on my way down,” Sam said during an Instagram Live session before heading into the studio. He even confessed his love for dark chocolate, revealing that it’s his favorite Easter treat.
Later in the video, Sam admitted something that many of us can relate to—he wasn’t entirely sure what he’d be filming on GMA that day. “One never knows until one walks in the door at GMA exactly what’s happening,” he said with a chuckle. “One probably would if I read my emails.”
Life Beyond the Weather Desk
Sam and Rubem are no strangers to Miami. They own a home there, where they spend a good chunk of their time. Of course, they also love visiting their home in NYC, where Sam works on Eyewitness News. Recently, Sam has been making regular appearances on GMA, filling in for various hosts on a part-time basis. Naturally, his fans have been curious about his current status on the show.
“It’s just been filling in for a lot of people who have been gone, and then the projects that I’ve been doing for ABC have been keeping me busy, so in theory, still part-time, but it’s a lot,” Sam explained in an Instagram video posted on March 1.
Recharging with Family and Friends
Despite his busy schedule, Sam makes sure to carve out time for his loved ones. Last week, he and Rubem went on vacation with some of Sam’s GMA colleagues, including Robin Roberts and her partner Amber Laign, Gio Benitez and his partner Tommy DiDario, and Emily Kaufman. It’s clear that Sam values his relationships and knows how to balance work with quality time with those who matter most.
