When life throws us challenges, we often turn to the people we love the most. For Riley Keough, honoring her late brother Benjamin Keough has become a way to keep his memory alive. In a deeply personal move, Riley, Lisa Marie Presley’s eldest daughter, shared sweet memories of her brother through a series of touching videos on Instagram, just weeks after Benjamin tragically passed away at the age of 27 on July 12.
A Glimpse Into Their Bond
On Monday, July 27, Riley, now 31 and an accomplished actress, took to Instagram Stories to give fans and loved ones a rare glimpse into the special bond she shared with her brother Benjamin. Through a series of heartfelt clips, Riley captured moments that truly reflect the joy and laughter Benjamin brought into her life. In one video, Benjamin is seen dancing freely in the kitchen, music playing softly in the background, his carefree spirit shining through. Another clip shows Riley capturing Benjamin as he lounges playfully on top of her on the couch, their connection evident in every frame.

Riley’s tribute doesn’t stop there. She continued to share additional clips that showcase Benjamin’s playful side, from pulling pranks to belting out karaoke tunes with friends. It’s clear that Benjamin’s presence lit up every room he entered, and Riley’s videos are a testament to the joy he brought to those around him.

Coming to Terms with Loss
Riley’s emotional montage comes more than a week after she first broke her silence about her brother’s passing. Benjamin’s death was suspected to be by suicide when he was found at a home in Calabasas, California, with a gunshot wound on July 12. The tragic news was confirmed a few days later when the autopsy results revealed he had died from an intraoral shotgun wound.
On July 18, Riley took to Instagram to honor her “baby brother” and “best friend” in a deeply moving post. In her heartfelt message, she wrote, “Mornings are the hardest. I forget you’re gone. I can’t cry because of the fear that I will never stop. A pain that’s new to me. You. There are no words for you. Angel is the closest I could think of.”
Riley went on to describe Benjamin in ways that capture his essence: “Pure light. Wild man. Intellectual. Witness to my life. Twin soul. Protector. Too sensitive for this harsh world.” Her words reflect the profound love and connection she felt for her brother, and her hope that he finds peace. “I hope you give me strength to endure the giant hole you’ve left in my heart. I hope you give me the strength to eat. I hope you’re cradled in love. I hope you feel my love. I hope you feel god. You are god. I can’t believe you’ve left me. Not you sweet Ben Ben. Anyone but you. I guess this is true heartbreak. I hope we meet again.”

A Family United in Grief
Following the devastating news of Benjamin’s death, Lisa Marie, who shares her two eldest children with her first husband Danny Keough, was understandably heartbroken. A close family source revealed to Closer Weekly that the family is “devastated,” adding, “They’re all worried about Lisa now. The family is gathering together.”
Though Lisa Marie has not yet publicly commented on her son’s death, Priscilla Presley, Benjamin’s grandmother, took to Facebook to express her grief. In her July 22 post, Priscilla wrote, “These are some of the darkest days of my family’s life. The shock of losing Ben has been devastating. Trying to put all the pieces together of all the possible whys has penetrated my soul.” She went on to share her daily struggles, saying, “Each day I wake up I pray it will get better. Then, I think of my daughter and the pain she is going through as she was a doting mother.”
