Priscilla Presley has finally spoken out following the deeply painful and unexpected loss of her beloved grandson, Benjamin Keough, who tragically passed away on July 12. In a heartfelt post on Facebook, she shared her family’s immense grief and the profound impact Benjamin's passing has had on everyone close to him.
“These are some of the darkest days my family and I have ever faced,” Priscilla, 75, wrote in an emotional message shared on July 22. “The shock of losing Ben has left us all reeling. We’ve been trying to piece together the reasons behind this heartbreaking tragedy, and it’s something that continues to weigh heavily on my soul. Every morning, I wake up hoping things will get better, but then I think about my daughter, Lisa Marie, and the unimaginable pain she’s going through. As a mother, she was nothing short of extraordinary to Ben.”
Priscilla went on to acknowledge the profound loss felt by everyone in her family, saying, “Ben’s father, Danny, is completely lost without him. Ben was his only son, and that bond can never be replaced. Riley, his sister, was so loving and close to him; she adored him deeply. Harper and Finley, his younger siblings, absolutely worshipped him. Even Navarone, who struggles deeply with loss and death, is finding it hard to come to terms with this. Rest in peace, Ben. You were truly loved by so many.”

Understanding the Family Legacy
For those unfamiliar, Priscilla’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, shares Benjamin and her 31-year-old daughter Riley Keough with her first husband, Danny Keough. Lisa also raises her two youngest children, Harper and Finley, both 11, with her fourth ex-husband, Michael Lockwood. Benjamin’s passing, which occurred from an intraoral shotgun wound, has left a gaping void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Friends and family have been vocal in expressing just how remarkable a person Benjamin was.
Riley Keough, Benjamin’s sister, took to Instagram to share her feelings about the loss of her beloved brother. “There are no words to describe the person you were, Ben,” Riley wrote on July 18. “If I had to choose one, it would be angel. You were pure light, my baby brother, my best friend, a wild soul, an intellectual, someone who witnessed every moment of my life, my twin soul, my protector. But most of all, you were too sensitive for this harsh world. I hope you give me the strength to endure the hole you’ve left in my heart.”

Benjamin's Legacy Lives On
Benjamin’s close friend, Brandon Howard, also spoke about the kind of person Benjamin was. According to Brandon, Benjamin was always there for others, no matter the situation. “He was one of those people who would drop everything to help someone else,” Brandon said. “But when it came to his own life, he struggled. Sometimes, he battled with depression, which is a serious issue, especially during the pandemic when everyone’s been stuck at home. It’s been a tough time for so many people, and I wish I could have been there for him when he needed it most.”
