Family Fun Under the Stars
When it comes to celebrating a milestone, the royal family knows how to do it right. For Prince George's 7th birthday on Wednesday, July 22, his parents, Duchess Kate and Prince William, pulled out all the stops. According to an exclusive source at Closer Weekly, they organized a delightful camping-themed BBQ party. William even set up tents in the garden, surprising George with a yurt as his special gift. To top it off, little Prince George received a shiny new bicycle from his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
This wasn’t just any ordinary birthday. William, now 38, is planning to take the celebration a step further by building furniture for the yurt with George. This hands-on project will give the young prince even more joy as he gets to enjoy his gift fully. Meanwhile, his siblings weren’t idle—they helped their mom, Kate, bake a decadent chocolate sponge cake. The trio went all out, decorating it with sprinkles, lollipops, and colorful candy. Everyone enjoyed the sweet treat, including George’s grandparents, Michael and Carole Middleton, who were special guests at the party.

Grandparents Add Extra Sweetness
“George absolutely adores his grandparents and wanted them there,” the insider shares. The highlight of the day, however, was a heartfelt birthday shout-out from the royal family. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip extended warm wishes on their official Instagram account, writing, “Wishing Prince George a very happy [7th] birthday today!” Not to be outdone, William’s dad, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, shared the same sentiment along with a cute photo of George smiling, captured by his mom.

Post-Pandemic Plans: A Grandfather’s Gift
While the world continues to navigate the coronavirus pandemic, Prince Charles has something special in mind for his grandson once quarantine lifts. During a chat with Alan Titchmarsh on Classic FM, the Prince of Wales reminisced about his own childhood experience of seeing the Bolshoi Ballet perform at Covent Garden during their first visit to the UK.
“I shall never forget that incredible occasion,” he recalled. “I was completely inspired by it. That’s why I believe it’s crucial for grandparents or other relatives to take children, around the age of 7, to experience some form of the arts in performance.” Sounds like George is in for a magical cultural experience!
