Marie Osmond Keeps Family Ties Strong During Challenging Times

Marie Osmond is proof that love knows no boundaries—even during a global pandemic. The beloved singer and TV personality isn’t letting the coronavirus stop her from staying connected with her children and grandchildren. In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Marie reveals how she and her husband, Steve Craig, have come up with a thoughtful and safe solution to visit their family without putting anyone at risk.

"We’ll take our motorhome and we’ll go see the kids," Marie, 61, shares in the heartwarming interview. "We’ll stay outside in their driveways so we don’t invade their homes." It’s a simple yet effective plan that allows her to maintain social distancing while still being close to the people she loves most.

Family Time in the Motorhome

Marie’s children—Stephen, 37, Jessica, 33, Rachael, 31, Brandon, 24, Brianna, 23, Matthew, 21, and Abigail, 18—and her seven grandchildren can’t get enough of their visits. "The kids will come out to sleep in the motorhome, and [in the morning], they’ll be like, ‘Bye! Time to go!’" Marie says with a laugh, painting a vivid picture of these cherished moments.

"This way we don’t have to be around people... we’re isolated, we’re keeping it good for us and for him, and those are the kind of things that I’m focused on," she explains. In a world where health concerns are at the forefront, her approach ensures she can enjoy quality time with her family while keeping everyone safe.

    A Heartfelt Holiday Season

Despite her efforts, Marie did experience a first in 2020: celebrating Christmas without her family. She and Steve, who remarried in 2011 after their 1985 divorce, spent the holiday together, making it both a sweet and bittersweet experience. To make up for the absence, her grandchildren created a heartfelt video just for Steve.

Marie describes the homemade "movie" as one of the "sweetest things" she’s ever seen. Featuring Stephen, 7, Rocket Jade, 5, Christian, 5, Maxwell, 2, Maude, 20 months, Wolf, 18 months, and Mabel, 5 months, the video captures their love for their grandpa in the most adorable way possible.

"My kids couldn’t be with him and they love him so much," Marie says, her voice filled with emotion. "It’s all really sweet and they talk about how much they love him and how they were away from him over the holidays and how hard it was for them." Watching the video brought Steve to tears, and Marie plans to share it on social media, allowing fans to witness the family’s bond.

Marie’s dedication to her family is unwavering, and she’s determined to never miss out on precious moments with them. Whether it’s through creative visits in the motorhome or heartfelt videos, she’s proving that love always finds a way.
