During an episode of Today on November 22, Hoda delivered a heartfelt defense of her favorite jacket. "Here’s the thing about a jean jacket," she explained to cohost Jenna Bush Hager, "you’ve got on a sundress, and you’re all set to go out, but then you walk into places that are chilly. What are you gonna throw on?"
As Jenna, 43, hilariously quipped, "A cardigan?" Hoda, 60, was quick to respond, "No, you’re gonna throw on your jean jacket." She continued, "I like it. It fits perfectly, it’s stylish, and it even has an inside pocket where you can safely stash your phone. What’s not to love?"

Jenna then referenced Hoda’s recent move to the suburbs, saying, "She clearly doesn’t know a minivan-driving mother." This was a nod to Hoda's recent purchase of a minivan after relocating with her daughters, Haley and Hope, to a new home just outside the city.

Hoda shared her excitement about her new vehicle with Today viewers on November 18. "Breaking news… I drove my minivan!" she exclaimed. "I hopped into my Toyota Sienna, and let me tell you, it’s like flying in a plane at 35,000 feet. It’s amazing!"
Jenna playfully teased, "Did you actually need groceries?" Hoda laughed and admitted, "No, I didn’t. I just wanted somewhere to go." It’s clear that Hoda is thrilled with her new vehicle. "I love my minivan so much," she declared. "It feels like flying in a plane at 35,000 feet. My kids love it too; they always want to sit in the back because it’s like a big old bus."
Hoda revealed that some of her neighbors have noticed her new wheels. "Some of the neighbors are texting me, 'Hey girl, saw your ride. You picking up the kids next time?'" she shared. "I couldn’t drive the kids before because I had a little car."
Big Changes Ahead for Hoda
With plans to leave Today in early 2025, Hoda is embracing a new chapter in her life. Craig Melvin will be taking over her role in the early morning hours starting January 13. For Hoda, this transition is all about creating new memories with her children and enjoying a fresh daily routine in her new neighborhood.

"I’ve discovered that there’s a 5:30 Soul Cycle class in my town, and I’m excited to start," she told E! News on October 25. "Then I’ll go back and feed my kids breakfast and make a coffee to go in my Yeti. It’s going to be a great new routine."
