Choosing Names with Heart
When it comes to naming their children, parents often choose something deeply personal and meaningful. For Kristen Wiig and her husband Avi Rothman, that sentiment rings true. In June 2020, the couple welcomed twins, Luna and Shiloh, into their lives via surrogacy. Despite keeping most details of their babies private, Kristen shared their sweet names during the credits of her latest film, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. According to the Daily Mail, the special thanks section included a heartfelt line that read, “Avi, Luna & Shiloh.”

The Significance Behind Luna and Shiloh
Kristen hasn’t revealed why she and Avi chose these two names for their adorable twins, but according to Nameberry, both names carry deep significance. Let's start with Luna, a name of Italian origin meaning "moon." Nameberry explains that Luna is the name of the Roman goddess of the moon, derived directly from the Latin word for moon, "luna." This divine name is often complemented by Sol, the god of the sun. In Roman art, Luna is frequently depicted driving a chariot, which adds a fascinating mythological layer to the name's allure.
On the other hand, Shiloh, a name of Hebrew origin, translates to "tranquil." While it was traditionally considered a boy’s name, Shiloh has become unisex, especially after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt named their daughter Shiloh in 2006. This haunting biblical and Civil War place-name holds a lot of weight and history, making it a unique and meaningful choice for Kristen and Avi.

A Private Life with Avi Rothman

Though Kristen hasn’t shared the exact date of their wedding, she confirmed her marital status during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in early February, referring to Avi as her "husband." Kristen expressed her excitement about parenthood and having Avi by her side during a SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show appearance.
