For the past four seasons, Eve has been a cherished and lively presence on CBS’s daytime talk show, The Talk. However, the American rapper recently announced that she will be stepping away from the show to focus on her personal life and start a family with her husband, Maximillion Cooper. The news was shared on November 2, leaving fans both surprised and understanding of her decision.

Why Eve is Leaving The Talk

During a heartfelt segment on Monday’s episode, Eve opened up to her cohosts Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, and Carrie Ann Inaba about her decision to leave. She explained that the pandemic has made travel between the U.S. and the U.K., where she resides with her husband, increasingly difficult. With the U.K. facing another lockdown due to rising coronavirus cases, Eve felt it was the right time to step back and prioritize her family.

Family Comes First

Eve, who is 41 years old, has been hosting The Talk remotely from her home in the U.K. due to the ongoing pandemic. However, with the U.K. heading into another lockdown, she decided it was time to focus on her personal life and her relationship with her husband, Maximillion Cooper, a British businessman. "We’re on another lockdown from Thursday," she explained. "Staying home has been such a blessing because my husband and I got to know each other in a deeper, more meaningful way. I want to be closer to him and concentrate on expanding our family. This is a chapter in my life that I’m excited about."

After sharing the news, Eve took a moment to express her gratitude and affection for her cohosts. "Sitting on stage with all of you women has been the best experience of my life," she said with genuine emotion. "I truly love you all." Eve also reflected on how being part of the panel has shaped her as a person. "Being on this show has been the most beautiful experience I will never forget. I’ve grown so much as a woman and as a person. I never imagined that being on a talk show would open me up in such profound ways—spiritually, emotionally, and personally."
