There’s nothing quite like celebrating family milestones, and Donny Osmond knows this better than anyone. On Sunday, July 19, the legendary singer and entertainer took to Instagram to give his daughter-in-law, Alta, a heartfelt shout-out on her special day. It’s moments like these that remind us how much love and support can truly mean to someone.

Donny Osmond Wishes a Happy Birthday to Alta

Now, let me tell you, Donny didn’t hold back when it came to showering Alta with praise. At 62 years old, the "Too Young" singer shared a glowing message for his daughter-in-law on Instagram. “#HappyBirthday to our daughter-in-law Alta!” he wrote. “Looking forward to the life adventures that lie ahead for you and Christopher. You two will be wonderful parents to your sweet baby girl!”

still can’t get over the fact that we’re going to be parents! we have been soaking up every moment we can get, because I know this time together is precious— and honestly, it’s just what the doctor ordered. this summer has been full of spontaneous adventures with close friends and family, and I just feel so grateful to be bringing a sweet baby girl into a village with so many people who will love her so much. we have felt so spoiled and loved and my heart is just grateful. side note: we are 19 weeks pregnant and baby girl is a wild one, that’s for sure! I started feeling her about a week ago, and I swear it’s constant! I love it sooo much! 👶🏼 so crazy we’re about half way— 🤰🏼and still waiting to really ‘pop’.

Welcoming a New Granddaughter

Fast forward to June 1, when Donny revealed that his son Christopher and Alta are expecting their first child. It was a joyous occasion that Donny and his wife Debbie Osmond celebrated at a gender reveal party. They shot pink powder out of a cannon, confirming that they were expecting another granddaughter. “The Donny and Debbie family is growing!” Donny said at the time. “After one sweet granddaughter and nine wonderful grandsons, the exciting day for the gender of grandbaby is finally revealed. Congratulations to our sweet kids, Chris and Alta. We love all three of you. Debbie and I are so happy. #FamilyIsForever.”

Chris and Alta: A Love Story

Chris and Alta have been married for three wonderful years. During this time, Chris has often said how grateful he is to have his “best friend” by his side. In fact, on an Instagram post back in May 2019, Chris couldn’t stop gushing about his wife. “I seriously lucked out with the most amazing wife/best friend in the world,” he wrote. “You ask anyone and they’ll say Alta is the most loyal person out there. I couldn’t agree more.”

On their second wedding anniversary, Chris shared some beautiful throwback photos of him and Alta. He included two shots from their wedding day in May 2017. “I’m so excited to grow old with you and witness the amazing things you’re going to accomplish in this life,” he said. “You’re a light to so many people and I’m so proud of you. I will always consider you my role model and anchor.”
