Even though Aimee Osbourne made it clear early on that she wasn’t interested in joining her family’s reality TV show, The Osbournes, in the early 2000s, her mom, Sharon Osbourne, holds no grudges. In fact, Sharon, who’s now a star on The Talk, said she totally gets why her eldest child chose to steer clear of the spotlight. It wasn’t an easy decision for Aimee, but Sharon respects it wholeheartedly.
Why Aimee Opted Out
Back in the early 2000s, life at the Osbourne household was chaotic. “It was like living in a war zone,” Sharon, now 68, explained during an episode of her CBS talk show on October 13, 2020. “We had around 30 crew members swarming our house 24/7. The house wasn’t a home anymore—it was a production studio. It was madness, and I get why Aimee didn’t want any part of it.”

Looking back, Sharon fully understands Aimee’s decision. “I get why she didn’t want to be a part of it,” Sharon said. “But I wouldn’t change a single thing. I didn’t know what I was doing back then, but it turned out to be one of the most incredible experiences of my life.”

Sharon’s Reflections on The Osbournes
Sharon doesn’t have a single regret about the show, which aired for four seasons from 2002 to 2005. In fact, she’s deeply grateful for the opportunity it gave her and her family. “It was a wild ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” she shared. “But I do wish Aimee had been there with us. I feel like we missed out on having the whole family together on that journey.”
While The Osbournes featured Sharon, her husband Ozzy Osbourne, 71, and their younger kids Kelly Osbourne, 35, and Jack Osbourne, 34, Aimee chose to stay out of the spotlight. She wanted to carve her own path, and eventually, she found her way into music, much like her dad.
