Donny Osmond Celebrates Six Decades in Entertainment with a Vegas Residency
Let’s take a moment to talk about a true showbiz legend: Donny Osmond. The iconic performer is gearing up for a revamped Las Vegas residency at Harrah’s Showroom, where he plans to reflect on an incredible 63 years in the entertainment industry. And while Donny, now 67, admits that retirement is on the horizon, he’s not ready to step away just yet. “Let’s be honest, it’s inevitable,” Donny revealed during a recent appearance on The View on March 13. “But I still have a lot of fuel in the tank.”
Why Retirement Isn’t Happening Just Yet
During his candid chat with the The View panelists, Donny shared why he’s still going strong after all these years. “I love what I do. I really enjoy it. My job is to make people happy, and how can you complain about that? It’s a lot of work, sure, but I put 100 percent into my show, and I still feel like I’ve got plenty left in the tank.” The entertainer explained that while he’s not ready to retire just yet, the day will come when he can no longer give his all on stage. “When I can’t reach the bar I’ve set for myself—when I can’t give 100 or even 110 percent—that’s when I’ll know it’s time. But it’s not around the corner. It’s just something that’s inevitable.”
A Vegas Residency Extended Through the End of the Year
Donny kicks off his revamped residency at Harrah’s Showroom in Las Vegas on March 18. Initially set to run through July, the residency has been extended to include dates from August through November, thanks to overwhelming demand. “We’re extending until the end of the year,” Donny announced. “You never know what’s going to happen in show business, but we’re having the time of our lives right now. The audience is loving it, and we’ve got the best team in the business—the dancers, the band, the crew. It’s a real family effort.”

A Show That Spans Six Decades
Donny’s Vegas residency is more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of six decades in show business. “It’s not a nostalgic show. It’s 90 minutes packed with six decades of entertainment. From the very beginning to the present day, everything is represented,” he said. “I don’t know how I managed to fit all six decades into 90 minutes, but somehow I did it.” One of the most exciting moments in the show? Donny uses artificial intelligence to perform a duet with his 14-year-old self. “In the middle of the show, the curtain opens, and there’s an AI version of me at 14. We sing ‘Puppy Love’ together. I’m looking into the eyes of myself 53 years ago, talking and singing with him. It’s an incredible experience.”
Appealing to a Multigenerational Audience
Donny’s career has spanned generations, from his early days on the Donny & Marie variety show to voicing Captain Li Shang in Disney’s animated classic Mulan. His Vegas residency reflects this wide appeal, featuring a full Broadway-style production of his hit song “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from the film. “What’s fascinating is how varied my audience has become,” Donny said. “I spend a lot of time on social media, and I’ve noticed that my fanbase includes a lot of young kids who know me from Mulan. It’s incredible to see how the audience is expanding and evolving.”
