It’s time to say goodbye to a place that’s been the backdrop of countless memories and the start of many stories. For Live With Kelly and Mark, the iconic Upper West Side studio has been the heart and soul of the show for decades. But now, as life moves forward, so does this beloved program. Hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are stepping into a new chapter, leaving behind the studio where they’ve spent so much of their professional—and personal—lives.

A New Chapter in a Familiar Journey

The final episode filmed in the old studio aired on Tuesday, April 1, marking the end of an era. For 37 years, every episode of the show was filmed in the same space, a testament to its longevity and consistency. But now, as the show transitions to a new location, the hosts are reflecting on the countless moments that made this place so special. It’s not just a studio—it’s a home away from home, a place where their kids grew up, and where they’ve shared so many unforgettable experiences with their audience.

Where It All Began

Mark, who’s been with the show since 2023, reminisces about the role the studio played in his family’s life. “Our kids grew up here,” he told People. “They’d come visit mom here a lot—they were always backstage, even when they were babies.” For Kelly and Mark, the studio wasn’t just a workplace; it was a place where their family grew and thrived. Their children, Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 22, have been a part of the show in one way or another, whether through sweet anecdotes shared on air or making appearances themselves.

Since 2001, Kelly has been a constant presence on the show, navigating the ups and downs of co-host changes with grace and charm. Her partnership with Mark began after Ryan Seacrest left the show, and together, they’ve created a dynamic that resonates with audiences. But for Kelly, the studio holds a deeper meaning. It’s a place where she balanced her career with motherhood, a rare feat in the world of live morning television.

“You have to remember, I had my kids back in a time when maternity leave wasn’t really a thing,” Kelly explained. “But the good news is you could bring your kids to work with you. And because they’re very mindful of our hours here—as it is a live morning television show—I was able to be a full-time working woman and a full-time mother simultaneously, which is a very rare thing and not something I take for granted at all.”

In a heartfelt video posted on the show’s Instagram, Mark shared a personal story about the studio’s significance. “This place essentially helped me get the nerve to ask my wife to marry me,” he said, referring to the time in 1996 when he and Kelly were guests on Live With Regis and Kathie Lee. At the time, they were on a break, but Mark realized he couldn’t live without Kelly. “Obviously, seeing her it was like, ‘This is the worst decision of my life. I have to be with her forever,’” he recalled. “And I asked her to marry me and we flew to Vegas the next day.”

“Congratulations!! Bittersweet for sure! Enjoy the new studio creating more ever-lasting memories,” one fan commented on the post. Another added, “Amazing! I was an intern here in 1994. Loved this place, the energy, and the studio! Good luck on the next chapter!”

    Looking Ahead

While the old studio holds a special place in their hearts, the new location at 7 Hudson Square in Manhattan offers exciting possibilities. As part of the Walt Disney Company’s NYC headquarters, the studio is a symbol of growth and change. For Kelly and Mark, it’s not just about a new space—it’s about continuing to create meaningful connections with their audience and building on the legacy they’ve already established.
