Wayne Osmond: The Unsung Hero Behind the Scenes
As one of the original Osmond brothers, Wayne chose to step away from the spotlight to focus on his family life with wife Kathlyn Osmond and their five children. But that didn’t stop him from making a brief return in October 2019 when he joined the stage with brothers Alan, Merrill, and Jay Osmond for a special performance on "The Talk" to celebrate sister Marie Osmond’s 60th birthday.
Marie expressed her gratitude at the time, saying, “I haven’t had the chance to thank everyone publicly until now for all the effort in bringing everyone together to make my birthday dreams come true. The four original Osmond Brothers sang together one last time, and I wanted it to be my gift to all of you who have followed them through the years. I love you all!”
The Osmond Brothers: A Legacy of Love and Music
While Marie and Donny may be international superstars today, they’ll always remember the foundation laid by Wayne and their other brothers. In the early '60s, the original Osmond Brothers gained fame through appearances on "The Andy Williams Show," paving the way for Marie and Donny’s later success.
Marie fondly recalls how their journey began. “You see, they started singing to help buy [brothers] Virl and Tom [Osmond] hearing aids. I love my brothers so very much!” she said. “They taught me, even when they didn’t want to, and critiqued me, even when I didn’t want them to. We all kept learning, helping, and loving together.”
