Why Noblesville? A Love Story

For those of you who might not know, Mina previously had a flagship location in Bates-Hendricks, Indiana. Unfortunately, that store closed its doors at the end of 2023. It was a tough decision, but Mina explained the reasons behind it in a heartfelt statement on the company’s Facebook page. She mentioned the challenges of running a small business, especially during the unprecedented times of the pandemic when the store first opened in 2020.

But here’s the twist: just a few months after closing the original store, Mina found a light at the end of the tunnel. A kind stranger reached out to her with the idea of opening a new store in Noblesville. Mina fell in love with the area almost instantly. She described Noblesville as a place full of charm and character, particularly highlighting the beautiful Queen Anne Victorians that make the neighborhood so unique.

In a December 2023 interview with People, Mina shared her excitement about the new location. She mentioned one specific house that caught her eye—a block off the square that she described as a “mess.” But to Mina, that’s a good thing. She loves the idea of renovating and breathing new life into a place with potential. It’s like a dream come true for someone with her design background and passion for restoration.

“Finding a place that really wants us to come, and is making it comfortable and welcoming, feels kind of like a nice fresh start,” Mina said. You can hear the optimism in her voice. A Year of Change

While she admitted that her relationship with her mom, Karen E. Laine, and her brother, Tad Starsiak, isn’t in the best place right now, Mina remains hopeful about the future.
