Since gaining recognition on HGTV's Good Bones, Mina Starsiak Hawk hasn't slowed down. She's made multiple appearances on other HGTV shows, including the 2019 hit A Very Brady Renovation. During this show, Mina helped renovate a home in Studio City, California, to resemble the iconic Brady house. But what she didn't expect was an awkward moment on set involving an unexpected admirer.
During a recent episode of her podcast, "Mina AF," Mina, 39, opened up about her experiences traveling for work before the pandemic. "Back in the day, I was all over the place," she explained. "I was on Rock the Block, A Very Brady Renovation, all kinds of HGTV specials. And you know what? It was amazing because you're surrounded by so many interesting, talented people. But there was this one guy on the Very Brady Renovation set. He was involved with the vintage cars we had on display, and let me tell you—he was not shy about letting me know he was interested."
Steve Hawk's Hilarious Reaction to the Story
Mina's husband, Steve Hawk, chimed in during the podcast episode with a response that had everyone laughing. "When Mina told me about this guy, I couldn't help but laugh," Steve, 42, shared. "I was like, 'Good for him! Go for it, bro!' But honestly, we trust each other so much that it wasn't even an issue. We have a level of comfort in our relationship that I think a lot of people envy."

The Trust That Keeps Their Relationship Strong
Mina went on to explain how their relationship has evolved over time. "Steve and I have built a bond where we trust each other completely," she said. "That trust didn't come overnight, though. When we were first together, there were moments where we'd get a little nervous or insecure, but now? We don't even think twice about things like that. It's something we cherish and work on every day."
She added, "I think people often underestimate how rare that kind of trust is. It's something we don't take for granted, and we're grateful for it. We've both been through so much, and we've learned that the foundation of our relationship is built on mutual respect and understanding."
When the Tables Turned: Women Approaching Steve
Mina also shared two instances where women approached Steve. The first happened during a family outing to the park with their children, Jack and Charlotte. A woman approached Steve while he was playing with their daughter and asked, "Does she have a mom that's around?" Steve, without missing a beat, replied, "Yeah, she's right there." Mina laughed about the story, saying it was all in good fun.
Another time, Steve took the kids to his friend's pool, and one of the single ladies in the pool tried to flirt with him. "Some women might get upset about something like that," Mina admitted. "But for me, it wasn't even a second thought. Steve and I have such a strong foundation that these little things don't bother us. We've learned to laugh it off and focus on what truly matters—our family and our love for each other."
