Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we? For over a decade, Love It or List It has been a go-to series on HGTV, captivating audiences with its blend of design, drama, and delightful banter. The dynamic duo of Hilary Farr and David Visentin became household names, bringing their unique chemistry to life every episode. But as of late 2023, Hilary dropped a bombshell: she’s stepping away from the show. Fans are left wondering—does this mean the end of Love It or List It as we know it?
Is 'Love It or List It' About to Say Goodbye?
When Hilary announced her departure, it felt like the rug had been pulled out from under fans of the beloved show. She decided it was time to move on, embracing new challenges and focusing on her growing real estate ventures. In her words, she told People magazine, “I’ve given it so many years of my life. It’s been through thick and thin with me, and it’s been a constant in people’s lives. But now, it’s time for me to step into the next chapter.”
When asked about the future of the show, Hilary admitted she wasn’t entirely sure what would happen. “Will Love It or List It continue without me? Honestly, I don’t know. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring in a fresh face to fill my shoes.” And despite leaving, Hilary remains supportive of the team. “I’ll definitely tune in and watch—it’s been such a big part of my life,” she added.

Are Hilary Farr and David Visentin Still BFFs?
One thing that hasn’t changed? The bond between Hilary and David. Even though Hilary is moving on, their friendship remains as strong as ever. “Working with Hilary has been an incredible journey,” David shared in a statement. “Sure, we were rivals on screen, but behind the scenes, we became fast friends. She’s got talent, personality, and a heart of gold. I’m excited to keep our friendship alive even as she ventures into new projects.”
Hilary echoed similar sentiments. “Twelve years together has been nothing short of magical,” she said. “David and I will always be friends, and I fully expect him to keep being that wonderfully annoying guy he is. It’s one of the things that makes him so special.”

What's Next for Hilary Farr?
Now that Hilary’s stepped away from Love It or List It, she’s diving headfirst into new adventures. One of her main focuses is the potential third season of her solo series, Tough Love With Hilary Farr. Beyond TV, Hilary’s also indulging her passion for real estate. Recently, she purchased a charming home in North Carolina, which she’s lovingly renovating. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, she’s also acquired a plot of land in Italy where she dreams of building a tiny house.
“I realized I needed to shake things up,” Hilary explained. “After so many years, it was becoming too comfortable, and I found myself stuck in a routine. Life’s too short not to seek out challenges and embrace every moment. That’s why I made the decision to leave Love It or List It—so I could chase those new opportunities.”
