Let me tell you a story about Kym Johnson, the dazzling former star of Dancing With the Stars. This incredible dancer, now a proud mom and wife, has been juggling her personal life and career like a champ. Kym recently opened up about her family dynamics with Closer, revealing how her husband, Robert Herjavec (yes, the guy from Shark Tank), plays a massive role in making their household run smoothly.
When it comes to raising their twins, Hudson and Haven, Kym couldn’t be prouder of her partner. "Robert is such an incredible dad," she gushed. "He’s so supportive and hands-on. He really steps up when I need to focus on work or take on new challenges." It's clear that their partnership is built on trust, teamwork, and mutual admiration.
A New Chapter in Kym’s Career
For Kym, stepping away from the ballroom didn't mean stepping out of the spotlight. She recently starred in Lifetime's Hunting Housewives, alongside powerhouses like NeNe Leakes and Denise Richards. And guess what? Her husband Robert had nothing but encouragement for her decision to take on the project.

“He said, ‘Go for it! I’ll take care of the kids,’” Kym recalled with a smile. “That’s one of the reasons we moved to Canada four years ago—to create a balance between my career and family life. Even though my kids are usually asleep by the time I get home from set, I still get to see them every morning before I head out. That’s priceless to me.”
Mom Guilt? Not So Much
As a mom of two, Kym admitted there are moments when she feels the pull of "mom guilt." But overall, she believes returning to work is not just good for her but also for her children. "They've never seen me dance on Dancing With the Stars, so it's been exciting for them to witness Mommy chasing new dreams," she said.
While the movie may not be entirely suitable for her young ones, Kym finds joy in sharing snippets with them. “They’re fascinated when they see little bits of it. They’re like, ‘Wow, Mommy’s doing something cool!’ It’s heartwarming to watch their reactions,” she shared.
Robert: The Ultimate Support System
Robert has consistently encouraged Kym to pursue her passions. “He’s always telling me, ‘Don’t limit yourself. If you want to do something, go for it,’” she explained. “He’s taught me that life is too short to hold back. If you dream about something, put in the effort and make it happen.”
That mindset has inspired Kym to take acting and singing lessons. “I’m learning new skills every week, and it’s been such a rewarding experience. It’s not just about me; it’s about setting an example for my kids too. I want them to know they can achieve anything if they work hard enough.”

But Hunting Housewives is just the beginning for Kym. “We’re developing a few movies, which is super exciting,” she teased. “And I’m also working on a children’s animated TV series—a project that’s truly close to my heart. It’s amazing because I can collaborate remotely, which means I don’t have to leave the house much. That’s a game-changer for me.”

Kym described this phase of her life as a “beautiful transition.” “I’m still being creative, just in a different way. It’s similar to what I did on Dancing With the Stars, but now I get to explore acting and producing. It feels like the perfect next step for me,” she said.
Don’t miss Lifetime’s Hunting Housewives, airing Saturday, March 9, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
