There’s nothing quite like watching the Today show hosts balance their professional lives with their personal ones, and on Thursday, April 25, they did just that. It was Bring Your Kids to Work Day, and the studio was filled with the laughter, charm, and cuteness of the hosts’ little ones. The Today team welcomed their children into the spotlight, turning the morning broadcast into a delightful family affair.
Little Stars Shine Bright
During the third hour of the show, cohosts Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones were joined by Craig Melvin’s son, Delano, and Dylan Dreyer’s son, Calvin. These young boys, who clearly inherited their parents’ confidence and charisma, took the stage like seasoned pros. With a smile as bright as the morning sun, Delano greeted the camera with a cheerful, “It’s take your kids to work day!” Calvin chimed in with a playful quip, “Hey, this doesn’t seem so hard.”
Craig Melvin, 44, and Dylan Dreyer, 42, couldn’t have been prouder as they joined their sons on set. The two dads beamed with pride as they watched their kids steal the show. “Craig and I are stage moms off on the side going, ‘Speak up. Stand up tall!’” Dylan joked to Al Roker, 69, and Sheinelle Jones, 46.

Getting to Know the Next Generation
The segment turned into a mini-interview, giving viewers a glimpse into the lives of these adorable kids. Delano shared his excitement about his new puppy, Miles, while Calvin revealed that cooking with his mom is one of his favorite activities. “It’s pretty fun,” he said. “We make eggs all the time.”
These moments not only showcased the kids’ personalities but also highlighted the close-knit relationships they share with their parents. It’s clear that the Today show isn’t just a workplace for these families—it’s a second home.
Big Energy Outside Rockefeller Center
Earlier in the day, cohosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie took the festivities outside. The duo looked like seasoned chaperones as they led a group of excited kids through Rockefeller Center. The Today kids waved to fans, and some even started a spontaneous dance party. It was a true celebration of family and fun, proving that even a day off from school can be an adventure.
Among the crowd were Hoda’s daughters, Haley and Hope. Haley, in particular, got a chance to shine when she stepped up to the mic. Her confidence and charm were a testament to the loving environment she’s grown up in.

Family Life in the Spotlight
The Today show hosts have become more than just morning television personalities—they’re family members to their viewers. Fans have grown accustomed to hearing stories about their personal lives, and this special day was no exception. Hoda Kotb, in particular, shared a touching moment about balancing her busy schedule with her daughters’ activities.
“For all the moms who forget things, I’m among them,” Hoda admitted to the April 1 audience on Today with Hoda & Jenna. “So, [my daughter] Haley yesterday said, ‘Are you coming to my spring concert?’ I was like, ‘When is it?’ She goes, ‘It’s tomorrow?’”

Hoda went on to describe her frantic rush through New York City to make it to her daughter’s performance. “Well, tomorrow is today. And so it starts at 8:45 and anyone who’s tried to get around midtown, or around the Upper West Side, knows — and it’s raining! So I decided I was going to make,” she continued. “And I said, ‘Mamma’s gonna come in hot. You look at that door, I’m going to be there, OK? 8:45 I’m going to be there.’ ‘OK, mamma, OK , OK.’”
