A Legacy of Love and Success
In addition to Maggie, Pat shares a son, Patrick, with his wife, Lesly Brown. Patrick recently graduated from medical school, a proud moment for any parent. Pat shared the news with his longtime co-host, Vanna White, during an episode of Wheel of Fortune. "You know my son Patrick, you’ve known him all his life," Pat told Vanna. "He’s made it through medical school and he is now officially Dr. Sajak." Though Pat joked about calling his son "Dr. Sajak," he couldn’t hide his pride in his son's achievements.
Pat also shared that he tried to steer Patrick toward geriatrics, but the younger Sajak wasn’t interested. "That’s a personal thing," Pat laughed. "Anyway, congratulations son!"
Four Decades of Fun and Games
Pat has been a part of the Wheel of Fortune family for an incredible four decades. Reflecting on his time with the show, he expressed gratitude for everything he’s accomplished. "This was announced a long time ago, almost a year ago. So I’ve had time to sort of get used to it," he said. "And it’s been a little bit wistful and all that, but I’m enjoying it and taking it all in and reflecting on the great run."
As Pat steps away from the spotlight, he’s leaving behind a legacy that will be hard to forget. Ryan Seacrest will take over hosting duties for season 42 this fall, while Vanna White will continue turning letters after signing a contract to stay with the show through 2026.

A Tribute to a Legendary Partnership
Vanna White, Pat’s longtime co-host, expressed her admiration for Pat in a recent interview with TV Insider. "I don’t think there’s anything [he and I] haven’t talked about in 8,000 shows," Vanna said. "We’ve traveled around the world together. We’ve watched our kids grow up together. We’ve thrown pies in each other’s faces. He’s so funny! I love him like a brother. Gosh, I’ve known him longer than I’ve known anybody. We will be friends forever."
