Life in the Drummond Household: From Full House to Man Cave
At 51 years old, Ree Drummond shares her life with her husband, Ladd Drummond, and their four amazing kids—two daughters, Alex and Paige, and two sons, Bryce and Todd. Their home has always been filled with laughter and love, but as the kids grow up, things are changing. Alex, who’s 22, and Paige, 20, have both spread their wings and left the nest, leaving the house feeling a little different.
Ree opened up about this transition during an interview with Cowboys & Indians. She explained how the departure of her eldest daughter, Alex, in 2015 was bittersweet. “It was sad and difficult, as it always is when the first kid goes to college,” she admitted. But having Paige still around helped keep the house feeling lively. “While we experienced a void where Alex had been, the vibe in our household was still the same,” she shared.
When Paige Left for College
However, everything shifted when Paige graduated high school in 2018 and headed off to college. “When Paige went to college, all bets were off,” Ree recalled. “There was an immediate difference in the culture of our house. It suddenly became a man cave, where ranching and football took center stage.”

Finding Balance in a Changing Home
Even with the house feeling quieter, Ree has embraced the new dynamic. “I’ve definitely had to fight to keep the female strength and energy flowing around here…while also learning to appreciate the quiet spans of time in the Drummond house,” she said. “This quiet gives me a new avenue for creativity and focus. The glass is half full around here!”
Though she misses her daughters being under the same roof, it’s heartwarming to see that they can still come together for moments like this TikTok video.
