A Multifaceted Life: Nikki DeLoach's Remarkable Journey
At just 45 years old, Nikki DeLoach has accomplished more than most people do in a lifetime. She started her career as a child star, transitioned into singing, and eventually became a beloved actress. Fans of Hallmark know her best for her role as Goldy Berry in the Curious Caterer mystery series. Recently, she starred in Our Holiday Story, which premiered as part of the channel's Countdown to Christmas lineup. But Nikki's life extends far beyond the screen. She's also a devoted wife, mother, and daughter who has taken on another important role: caregiving advocate.
Using Her Voice for Good: The Podcast 'Mind What Matters'
Nikki's passion for caregiving is deeply personal. A few years ago, her father was diagnosed with Pick’s disease, a rare form of dementia. This experience inspired her to co-host "Mind What Matters," a podcast she created with her friend Liz Humphreys. Together, they provide valuable information and support to caregivers, offering practical advice and insights that can make a real difference in their lives. The podcast goes beyond just caregiving; it also emphasizes the importance of self-care and disease prevention. "Our focus is on caregivers," Nikki explains, "but we also want to raise awareness and spread the word about how we can prevent disease and take care of ourselves."
A Mission to Help Others
Through her involvement in the Mind What Matters nonprofit, Nikki works tirelessly to provide information, support, and grants to caregivers. Her efforts are driven by a desire to help others avoid the same struggles she faced while caring for her father. "The caregiving community is struggling because care for loved ones is expensive," she shares. To combat this, Nikki advocates for lifestyle changes that can have a profound impact on mental and physical health. "If I had the information that I do now, I would have started changing my father’s diet in his 30s," she reflects. "I would have told him, 'We have to make sure you're eating things like berries and leafy greens. We have to make sure you're getting enough sleep.'"

For Nikki, giving back in this way is a way to honor her father's memory. "I couldn't save my loved one, so maybe I can help save other people," she says with determination. "That's the thing that gets me out of bed every morning." Her dedication to making a difference is truly inspiring and serves as a reminder that even in the face of loss, we can find purpose and meaning in helping others.
