What’s Next for Donnie Wahlberg?
Despite saying goodbye to Blue Bloods, Donnie assured fans that the story isn’t over just yet. “It’s been discussed,” he told Closer on December 13. “I’m sure it’s been discussed in multiple formats and multiple areas with multiple people.”
However, Donnie emphasized the importance of handling any spinoff carefully. “But you know whatever’s going to happen with the spinoff is going to have to be done thoughtfully and carefully,” he added. “That’s quite a legacy to live up to after Blue Bloods. And if the show doesn’t carry on some of those magical elements of Blue Bloods, then I think it would be a disservice to the show. So, it’s really just it’s being talked about.”
Looking back on his time with the show, Donnie expressed pride in being part of such a significant program for 14 seasons. “We worked hard to represent the people of New York and the NYPD, and we worked hard to keep the show going and to keep it compelling for 14 years,” he told Fox News Digital on December 14. “And it was a lot to say goodbye. It might sometimes, from the outside, seem weird, like, ‘Oh, all these actors are crying that their show’s over.’ But we did become a family, and we did become a family with the crew. And just to say goodbye to them was emotional.”
