Bridget Moynahan Honored with Prestigious JFK Award
Let me tell you about Bridget Moynahan, the talented actress who brought Erin Reagan to life on "Blue Bloods." She's just been announced as the recipient of the 2025 John F. Kennedy National Award by the St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke. This is a big deal, folks, and Bridget couldn't be more thrilled. Growing up in an Irish family has been a huge part of her life, shaping her values and who she is today. This award is not just about recognition—it’s about celebrating her roots and the vibrant Irish culture she holds dear.
Here’s what Bridget had to say about it: “Growing up in an Irish family has shaped my values of resilience, family, and community—qualities I see celebrated so beautifully in the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade. To be honored with the JFK Award is deeply humbling, as it represents not only a connection to my heritage but also a legacy of pride. I am so grateful to the committee for this incredible recognition and proud to stand with those who celebrate Irish culture and history so vibrantly.” You can feel the passion and gratitude in her words, can’t you?
What’s Next for Bridget After Blue Bloods?
Now that "Blue Bloods" has wrapped up its incredible 14-season run, Bridget isn’t slowing down. She’s set to be honored at the JFK Awards Dinner during the week of Saint Patrick’s Day. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, she’s already diving into her next big project. Bridget will star in "California Skate," an indie film set in the 1970s at a roller rink. This movie isn’t just about skating—it’s about a group of teenagers navigating first loves, forging new friendships, and embracing the exhilarating journey of growing up during a life-altering night. Talk about a heartfelt story!

She’ll be sharing the screen with some big names, including Brooke Shields, Jay Mohr, Henry Winkler, and Monique Coleman. Not only is she acting in this film, but she’s also producing it. Bridget is clearly taking her career to the next level, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table.
Looking Back on Blue Bloods
Although "Blue Bloods" ended in December 2024, Bridget believes the show could have gone on for many more seasons. In a recent interview with Parade, she expressed her thoughts on the series. “I definitely think it could go on longer,” she said. “We’ve been so blessed to be able to tell stories of the police, detectives, and the law from the perspective of people who actually take on those selfless roles and tell it across that dinner table from a family that is so rooted in morals and values.”
She went on to explain, “I really think we’re going to miss that as a society because there’s a lot of energy questioning all those things. There’s going to be a void, and I think it’s a shame we’re removing such a true, honest voice from the air.” It’s clear that Bridget is not only a talented actress but also someone who cares deeply about the stories she tells.

In the show’s finale, Bridget’s character, Erin Reagan, revealed that she was going to remarry her ex-husband, Jack Boyle. They appeared together at the show’s final family dinner but decided not to share the news with her family just yet. Instead, it was Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko-Reagan who stole the spotlight with their exciting news that they were expecting their first baby. It was a bittersweet ending, filled with both joy and nostalgia.
Bridget’s Plans for the Future
When asked about her plans after "Blue Bloods," Bridget shared her excitement about staying close to home while pursuing new opportunities. “I think until my son Jack, who’s 17 with ex Tom Brady, graduates from high school, I’m not going anywhere,” she said. “So I have high hopes that I’ll be working here. I was able to produce a great little short film in October called Swipe NYC. It stars Lisa Edelstein and has been to a lot of film festivals. I’m trying to stay on track with that and keep looking at things to produce and direct. That’s interesting and challenging to me.”
